Knitter and SILVER SPUN® GOODS Maker Laurie Gonyea was amazed when she discovered yarn spun with pure silver, but it wasn’t available in the U.S. for hand-knitters like her. She teamed up with North Carolina State University to create the signature warm, soft, and antibacterial yarn used to make these socks.
Silver is a smart choice for socks because it kills bacteria that can cause odor. Laurie blends it with super-soft American grown cotton to make each pair, and adds recycled wool to the boot socks, too. From the design stage to spinning the yarn to creating the final product, the socks are made start-to-finish in the USA. On top of all that goodness for feet, Laurie contributes a portion of sales to SustainABLE Start to make these socks a step up.
