Atiya Syverson is the certified professional ergonomist behind tekneksaver. While teaching a course on ergonomics and instructing her students on the importance of keeping phones at eye level, she realized that it was surprising that there wasn’t a tech device to help. So she got to work in her kitchen. She tied her phone to a wooden spoon and held it up, but that added arm fatigue and strain to her hand and shoulder. Not the intended results. So she rested the spoon on her torso to think things over and that’s when the aha moment struck. This position held the phone at eye level, while reducing the amount of grip strength needed. Her early spoon prototype is now a real product providing proper posture for all of us phone users.
