What is Grommet?
● Since 2008, Grommet has been the place where you get more out of shopping small—from finding ingenious products you never knew about to supporting small bizzes that might be right in your neighborhood.
Beth Herriman is the Maker of the dooloop, and she knows that necessity truly is the mother of invention. After adopting two rescue basset hounds, Beth found herself juggling bags and leashes during walks—which made clean-up duty tricky business, especially when a trash bin wasn’t close by. Spotting the zig-zag of a potato masher in her local hardware store inspired the neck design of her dog waste bag holders.
Beth got to work devising dooloops for friends and family in her own kitchen. Made of non-toxic compostable plastic—and assembled by hand in Maine—each holder is housed in zero-waste packaging. Flexible and lightweight, it easily attaches to a backpack or leash and provides a firm grip on knotted dog-waste bags. By handling this dirty job for you, Beth’s creation frees up your hands for more enjoyable tasks, like petting and playing with your pups.
