Vahdam Tea Maker Bala Sarda grew up among tea estates in India, so he was always able to enjoy a fresh-tasting cup. When he travelled abroad, the contrast in tea quality was striking—and not in a good way. Though he found tea outside of India lacking, something good came out of it. This inspired Bala to create a better way to share farm-fresh tea with everyone. As the fourth generation of a tea-exporting family, he was well-suited to the task.
