Cheerful and charming, these trivets are handmade in Nepal from a Fair Trade women’s group. The colorful wool felt spheres, made with 100% high quality wool are sewn together to form a vibrant pattern. Use underneath hot dishes or pans, to protect furniture from a vase, or simply as a design piece.

Marianne Monster

These trivets aren’t only unique and beautiful—they’ve got a backstory that will make you feel good about having them in your home.

Fair trade women's groups in Nepal make felt balls from 100% high-quality wool, and then string together 100 of these lively little spheres. Nepal is known for its felting, and it shows in these striking, thoughtfully designed pieces.

Use these heat resistant handicrafts for resting or serving hot dishes, pans, or teapots. The bright, fun colors also make them a great accent for a bookshelf or table, and the mix of colors means they’ll fit in with almost any decorating style. Plus, you’ll get the heartwarming feeling of knowing that you’re helping women in Nepal—a notoriously oppressive place for them—earn living wages with their craft.

Founder Marianne Monster created Vilt Van Ver (“Felt from Far”) in order to combine her creativity with running her own business. After traveling to Nepal in 2013, she decided to work with a Nepalese organization that offers fair wages and conditions to women, helping them become financially independent.

Give this delightful trivet as a gift or keep it for your own home—it's cheerful, unexpected, and meaningful.
