Hi Jean, 2 questions: 1.Does water in this bottle take on any taste because of the silicone?

2.how does it compare in weight (when empty) to a hard sided water bottle? ~ Thank you.

This bottle would be great with the addition of a loop or ring to which a carabiner or clip could be attached.

Hi, @Suzanne que Bottles are not designed to keep liquids cold/warm for too long, but they do slow down temperature changes for about 2 hours.

Can you put very hot/boiling tea in this? or will it melt

  • Jean
    Jean – Special Guest
    12/6/2016 12:39 PM

@Guest Hi, Yes, silicone is safe for hot liquid up to 350F + . We recommend cleaning the bottle with boiling water. But we do not recommend using it for hot liquid temperature higher than 140F because some parts of the bottle may not provide enough insulation and could cause burns using for extremely hot liquids.

@Jean This would be a perfect add on product, a water bottle sleeve.

You could make the top 1/2 inch out of an absorbent material and the remainder an insulating material. This way, when the bottle sweats, which bottles do, the absorbent material will wick the water away while the insulated material keeps your hands cool. I would probably design the top part like a hilt to a sword so that it acts more like a dam for the moisture.

It's no easy feat manufacturing here in the U.S., Tony, but I'm sure it's something they have and possibly will continue to consider.
