Do not buy

5/26/2019 by julane

Grommet is fantastic. Refunded my money. The maps, horrible. I Rome is one of my favorite City's. The map cuts off the off beat areas. Ifmap cuts off the off beat areas.

If you want maps that focus only on the congested tourist area. These will work.
But if you get outside that small area, you’ll have to buy another map.

Using maps, not ones phone is much better.
Phones disengage us from asking questions, talking to people.
Use the phone as a Camera only.
Or miss out on an experience of meeting locals.

Travel is about People.
Not Technology.
As is life.

Not as helpful as I thought

7/4/2015 by Laurie

I bought this map for my trip to Paris this summer and ended up using the hotels map instead of this one. Not as detailed as I needed.

not a very good map

I got the Rome map and found it difficult to read because of the yellow streets on a yellow background. The white streets were also difficult to to see.
Additionally, the map did not fold into a pocket size, so I had to mangle it a bit to carry it in my back pocket.
I have used several other travel maps that were far more user friendly.

About Red Maps

Mapped & Curated

When it comes to planning a trip, the Internet and guidebooks are a great source of information. But once you arrive at your destination, there’s nothing like a real map to help you get your bearings. Your smartphone may have GPS, but the small screen doesn’t show the big picture and using it while traveling can be costly.

Part map, part curated guide, Red Maps are a lightweight, easy-to-use and beautifully designed solution no city should be explored without. In addition to streets, neighborhoods, and major landmarks, each map features a selection of stores, hotels, restaurants, museums, parks and more carefully curated by a team of travel experts and updated every four to six months. Designer and company founder Jim Leniart has a strict no advertising policy—if it’s on the map, it must be noteworthy.

Made in the USA, Red Maps are matte laminated for water resistance, feature a no glare finish, and are available for 14 American Cities, 11 European cities and also come in gift sets. From the elegant design to the thoughtfully curated points of interest, Red Maps’ attention to detail takes the travel map to all new places.
