Root Revive

Root Concealer Kit

Gray Coverup

Like many women, Root Revive Maker Lynette Lange struggled to get good results with at-home root cover-up jobs. So she created a root concealer that’s as easy to apply as it is to wash out.

The Made in the USA powder concealer is a two-shade color pot. Blend or layer the colors to get a just-right shade that gives full coverage.
The container is portable and easy to apply, so you can touch-up anywhere you are. Even better, it won’t stain skin or linens, or flake off.

The powder lasts for 48 hours of concealing coverage or until you shampoo it out.

Today, like so many others the hero of my beauty routine is Root Revive. Yup, they were there in the mirror....my roots....it has only been two weeks since I colored, but they were back! Root Revive makes this a non issue for me. Just brushed it on any of those roots that showed, and I look and feel just colored fresh. No need to ever feel exposed.

Renee, Root Revive works great on blondes. our Golden Blonde is perfect for women with blonde hair that tends to be more golden. Our Purest Blonde covers roots on women with cool blonde hair. In both there is a darker and lighter side, so you can naturally match your color by blending, or use them separately if you have highlights.

Is it possible that some of the color descriptions and photos are mismatched? Dark Brown and Midnight Brunette look like they might have been switched. Makes it difficult to decide which color would be right.

@Barbara Barbara, Midnight brunette is our darkest color. It combines a black on one side and dark brown on the other. If you have very dark brown or a shade of black hair, this is the correct color for you. Dark Brown is a brown and dark brown, which is the color we suggest for anyone with light brown to dark brown hair. Hope that helps.

For certain this does not flake off if I sleep with it? I would hate to get any of it in my eyes if it came off during the night.

@Susan Susan, it will not come off at night, in fact it will not come off even if your hair gets wet....it will only come out with shampoo. You can feel confident it won't be a problem. But, you should also know we make this product to meet cosmetic standards...we were having women tell us they were using it on their brows, and we did not want to have any issues with our product for this use.

I have brown hair with a full head of blonde highlights. What color would you recommend for my roots? I would like to cover my dark roots with a blonde color as that is what most of my hair is, except the base color of brown.

    Thanks!

@Christine I would suggest the golden blonde, the two colors in this color pot, typically work well for women with your highlights. The dark side will hide the roots showing at the scalp, and the light side will help you reconnect the highlights you have. If you blonde is more cool, you may want to go with purest blonde, the golden is a true golden tone. Hope that helps.

@Lynnette Christine, I was thinking about your question, if you have a lot of contrast between your base and highlights (tending towards very dark brown and very white blonde) you may consider our medium brown. You could use the colors separately, which might be good to match up this type of high contrast if that what you were describing.

What comes with the root concealer kit ?

@Catherine With The Grommet, you get our color kit, which includes a color pot, and a short handle high quality application brush, plus you also get our professional long handle application brush. Which is typically a separate purchase of $15.95. Take the short brush with you in your purse or when you travel, and leave the longer handle brush at home for regular use.

Will this keep coverage and not run with sweat or in the rain?

  • Lynnette

    7/28/2017 11:52 AM

@Tracy Root Revive will not run even if your hair is wet. If you go to the gym, and wipe sweat with a towel or cloth, you may see some on the towel, but it will not run or streak.

It stays put, you won't need to reapply until you have shampooed your hair. No worries.

    @Lynnette

Have you tested how many days it can handle being soaked in the shower or pool before it needs to be reapplied (no shampoo, of course)?

  • Lynnette
    Lynnette – Special Guest
    7/28/2017 12:34 PM

@Cheryl It will hold for up to three days with out cleanser. Chlorine in pools, can have a cleansing effect, so I can't say it would last through multiple exposures in a pool.

I have to agree with Barbara. The dark brown and the midnight brunette color descriptions seem to be switched. On my screen the dark brown has the black and brown duo. The midnight brunette is lighter.

Hi, my hair is naturally brown, but I do a whole head of blonde highlights and a brown base. When my hair is first done, the whole top of my head is mostly blonde. What color would you recommend for the root touch up?

    Thanks!

@Christine Your question is very similar to a previous Christine's question. Depending on the level of contrast between the blonde and base color, and the look you want to have there are two ways to go. If you purchase Root Revive medium brown, you can use the light side to extend the look of your blonde highlights. If you like the look of the darker roots, then you can use the dark side of this color pot, to create that look. If you only are concerned about the blonde highlights, I would recommend our purest blonde, these two colors would minimize the dark grow-out, and give you that just colored look for a longer period of time. Hope that helps.

I plan on ordering this as soon as the description is fixed. The dark brown is definitely the darker of the two, not the Midnight Brunette. But I want to make sure since you said the Midnight Brunette was the darker. I don't want to order the wrong thing. My hair is black.

So can you use this product for your eyebrows & if yes will it last for about 3days if you don't use soap? It is not harmful to eyes?

  • Lynnette

@Jan We have this made to cosmetic standards, so it is perfectly safe to use on your brows. In fact I use it that way, as I have gotten older my brows have thinned, when I apply root revive it gives my brows a fuller appearance, and improved color. Brows are important features on our face, and thinning or lighter brows can add age. When I use it on brows, I don't use the supplied brush, but instead use a brush with a smaller head. I apply Root Revive over my brows, and then take a tissue and gentle wipe over each brow. This picks up any product that is on the surrounding skin, and creates a natural look. Don't be afraid to experiment. As for how long it would stay, probably same as hair, but personally I have never tried that. I always cleanse my face each night, so have no experience leaving it over more than one day.

I feel I could be medium brown or golden blonde. Not real sure. Can you order one complete kit with brush and and another with just the color compact?

    Thanks Bonnie

@Bonnie The kits all come with a high quality short handle brush inside the box. The professional brush we are adding to the original purchase is a gift. You could see if you can leave a note when you order, so we only send you one professional brush, but if you do get two, they are great brushes, hopefully you will find another use for it. After your initial order, you will have the option to order just the kit. The professional brush will last years.

I have cool silver almost white hair, and my pink scalp shows through at the part line due to the color contrast. Would this product in Purest Blonde help cover the scalp so that it doesn't show through?

@Susan Yes it would, applying this around your hair line and parts, will help fill in and give the appearance of thickness and more hair in those areas.
