Leather Bound

In a small, round house on an island off the coast of Maine, the vibe is rugged, simple, natural and honest. Lisa Sachs captures those same qualities in her handcrafted leather jewelry. A professional photographer, Lisa put down her camera to focus on creating three-dimensional works of art that people can wear. She spends a lot of her time at the Maine house, which is the inspiration for her company name, Round House Jewelry. Lisa’s bracelets are superbly crafted and have just the right amount of detail to make them different from other leather wraps without being too fussy. One of the techniques that sets Lisa’s work apart is her use of precious metal clay, which is a mixture of pure silver or bronze and an organic binder. Working with this clay requires a multi-step process of shaping, curing and extreme heat to burn away the binding material and create textured silver or bronze charms. Lisa’s leather wrap and bangle bracelets are versatile and chic. You can dress them up or down. They’re the kind of pieces you’ll reach for every day. They make great gifts, too -- if you can bear to part with them.

Hello Daily Grommet fans. The best thing about being a jewelry designer is knowing that somebody is making my art part of their daily life. I also love teaching and talking about metal clay and my designs: let me know if you have any questions!

How do the bangles fit on a size 8" wrist? Will they be hard to get over the larger hand?

    Thanks.

@Joy: Thanks for your message and your interest in the jewelry. The largest bangle is 7.5 inches around, but the leather wrap bracelet is designed to fit a wrist of any size. Let me know if you have any other questions! Lisa.

How long is a wrap bracelet? I have only a 6-inch wrist and it looks to me as though there would be a lengthy dangling tail. Am I wrong?

@Susan: Hi - the wrap bracelet is about 30 - 33" long. Once the button is where you'd like it to be and the leather is tied off, the user can snip the lengthy tail off (about 1/2" from the knot). The bracelet is then ready to wear! For every day on-and-off simply button and unbutton the button through the loop.

    Hi Lisa

I was wondering if you sell your bangles in a multi-color set of 5? I want to give them to my nieces and it would be fun it they each had the same bangle in a different color?

    Thanks,

    Louisa

I like your designs. Now, what about the men of the world who would like to have similar wearable art on their wrist? Any plans to expand your market? I'd be close to first in line if so.

    Regards,

    Ron
