Flat Collander

Disappointed. Not very useful. OK to wash and drain lettuce.

I like it but...

In the picture, veggies are being rinsed in the sink while being held above the bottom of the sink. That is because the bottom of the flat colander touches the sink in places, and the water from the bottom of the sink touches the items you are rinsing.

I use it only for peeling scraps into it, but not really as a colander.

If it were higher off the sink, I could recommend it. When and if they change the design, I would give it as gifts. But pretty is as pretty does.

Sinkstation - Flat Colander

About Sinkstation

Flat out useful

The Sinkstation is one of those “why didn’t I think of it” solutions that is simple, yet incredibly useful.

Invented by Damon Meredith, the Sinkstation is a uniquely shaped colander designed to lay flat in your sink, clean easily in your dishwasher, and stow neatly in your kitchen cabinets.

With the Sinkstation in place, pesky carrot and potato peelings won’t clog the drain and couldn’t be easier to sweep into the trash. The bottom of the Sinkstation is reinforced with little feet that lift it slightly off the surface of the sink creating a hygienic deck for flat washing lettuce, rinsing and defrosting frozen berries or draining ravioli and other items that are too delicate for a traditional colander.

The Sinkstation even comes in handy when watering plants enabling them to drain properly rather than sitting in a pool of water.

With so many uses, you’ll wonder how you ever got around the kitchen without it.
