    Hi Howard,

Nice size and price. Does the Sleep Dot integrate with FitBit? If not, any plans to?

@Perry Hi Perry, Thanks for the question. It does not . We are presently integrating the revised app to work with other IoT items . However FitBit is not on the integration drawing board since our application is made for, and is , a NON- Wearable product.

@Perry I neglected to add that the Sleepace application is free and so easy to work with. The Sleep dot data can be held in this small unit unit, before download, for 7 days . And you can use our smart alarm to wake you up gently and naturally noting when you are in a light sleep mode. No grogginess

Does the device transmit signals all through the night? I'm concerned about being exposed to this so close to my head.

    Thanks,

    Abby

@Abby Hi Abby, I'm the Director of Sales and Operations at Sleepace and this is an excellent question. The device does not transmit signals throughout the night. The only time it does that, would be in the morning when it syncs with your App. Other than that there is no signals or radiation coming through during the night. The radiation emitting during the data transfer is lower than that of your cell phone, by the way.

What do you mean by "sleep cycles"? Are you suggesting this pillow-based device can distinguish NREM and REM? If so, can you please provide a reference for the validation papers. Thank you.

@Kristen Hi Kristen Glad you asked . It does not work on NREM or REM Our patented algorithm notes the different sleep patterns by movement.

@Woops- are you saying your device cannot distinguish Rem sleep patterns? Unless I have a complete misunderstanding of sleep analysis I think you need to return to your neurology courses. You do have at least a graduate degree in neurology don't you. If your "patented algorythm" will detect a failure in rem sleep therefore a failure for the brain to get sufficient rejuvenation and instruct hou to change that I,for one can use it. Frank

@Frank Hi Frank your question is one of the best I've received so here you go.

“Actigraphic sleep tracking” (the device tracks your body’s movements to identify the sleep stage you are in). Note that this technique can tell the difference between “Awake”, “Light sleep” and “Deep sleep”.

We have found a way to do it in a non wearable solution '

To get more data to confirm thisis done outside REM ( Rapid eye movement and drean states)

@Sandra Hi Sandra, thank you for sending in your question. Yes, unfortunately you would need either an iPhone or an Android phone for it to work. You would have to download our free Sleepace App to get your account set up and to store your sleep reports. Unfortunately our App won't work on tablets or other computers and I am afraid, but we currently do not plan on making it compatible for laptop or desktop computers.

Hi, Howard --- How does the Dot do in distinguishing between one person sleeping, and another in the same bed? --------- Terry

@Terry Hi Terry, the Dot is clipped to the top corner of your pillow and is able to record your sleep phases and movements through its actigraphic sensors. This means that the Dot detects the movements of your head. While many people share their bed with someone, they usually do not share their pillow. The sensor is very sensitive and reacts to movement directly next to it. Another person in the bed however will not affect the sleep monitoring or accuracy.
