Handcrafted Cotton Scarves

Sustained Beauty

Beautiful and purposeful, Sophia Costas scarves are on a mission to do more than adorn your outfit. They combine artistic style, artisan practices, and a commitment to doing good.

Mia Berglund, the renowned designer with boutiques in Europe and NYC, started her Sophia Costas line after traveling to India. Drawing on her love of
nature, her hand illustrated styles feature playful patterns from cheerful animals to whimsical outdoor scenes encountered on her trip.

Plenty soft, slightly sheer, and generously sized, these 100% fair trade cotton scarves are made sustainably by local Indian women. Mia was struck by their traditional artisan techniques, which not only produce lovely garments but also honor the earth’s resources.

The hand-rolled edges are a signature touch that signifies the hard work and quality craftsmanship that goes into each one of these accessories. Wear a Sophia Costas scarf as a fashion statement and in support of life-changing, eco-conscious work halfway around the world.

I’m Mia Berglund, the founder of Berglund scarves. Berglund is proud to create handcrafted, sustainable, and fair trade scarves inspired by global travel. Our scarves support female artisans in India in creating a living and we donate regularly to the Azahar foundation, which benefits children in Cambodia. I’m excited to be working with the Grommet and would love to answer any questions.

OMG! The knitters, crocheters, weavers, spinners of the world are going to go crazy over the sheep scarf! Any plans to offer it in other colors? Or other 'wool' creatures? You could sell a ton of these if you have alpacas, rabbits, llamas, etc..... just a thought. You might not realize there is a niche market just begging for other ways to wear their craft besides through the fruits of their own labors.

    Hi,

    These are beautiful!

How much of the proceeds go to the artisans and the Azahar Foundation?

    Hi Kate,

So happy to hear that you like the scarves!

The percentage we donate varies depending on the needs of the children and tuition costs.

Currently, we are donating enough to cover the costs of private school tuition for two children in Cambodia and a third taking English classes. Our donations also cover the cost of weekly yoga education.

I hope that gives you the answer you're looking for!

    Best,

    Mia
