Great but weird chemical smell

12/2/2013 by Michelle

This towel works great. I have to bathe my English Bulldog 2x a week due to skin allergies and this saves time and laundry. I went from using 2 towels (and still have him quite damp) to using just this. It gets so heavy so I know it's working!

My one complaint is that it has a really bad chemical smell right out of the package...even after washing it a couple of times before I used it. It is ok now (after a few uses and a few more washes) but since it was unpleasant for me, I can only imagine what it was like for the dog.

I love the Soggy Doggy!

So far, so good! The dogs like it better than a towel on their feet. It does have a funky smell when it is new though. Otherwise it works great!

dries very well.

So far the soggy doggy has worked great. My only complaint is that it is small. It works great on our medium size dog. I wish it was bigger for our big dog. I'd buy another one if they had it in a bigger size.More > < Less

Good idea.

This product is nicely designed and easy to use. It does dry my dog quickly and is incredibly absorbent. In fact, it is so absorbent that my washing machine can't spin all the water out of it, even with an extra spin cycle. So the only drawback to this product is that I have to wring out the excess water by hand, before placing it in the dryer.More > < Less

ok

this is ok, it would be better if it was easier to keep your hands in the pockets. Dogs squirm and you can't hold the towel = wet dogs

About Soggy Doggy

Paw Patrol

Tired of dirty, wet paw prints all over your house? Joanna Rein remembers feeling that way.

Despite stockpiling rags and towels by the backdoor, her four young kids could never tackle their dog Buddy’s wet paws when he came in from the yard. She wanted an easy way to clean and dry Buddy without creating a huge mess, and she was inspired by two things: the tiny chamois towel she saw a swimmer using at a swim meet, and the soft, dangling brushes in a car wash. It took some experimentation (and help from a patient tailor) before Joanna perfected a simple, practical solution for wet paws that even Buddy likes using.

The secret is in the “noodles,” the textured strands of microfiber chenille that are woven together to create Joanna’s Soggy Doggy Doormat and Soggy Doggy Super Shammy. These shaggy textiles soak up water and trap dirt like a sponge. And they really work. The doormat can absorb 5 times more water than a regular cotton doormat, and it easily doubles as a crate pad, car mat or couch cover. The Super Shammy—which has hand pockets so you can get a firm grip when you’re toweling off your pooch—can hold up to seven times its weight in water.

Dogs love the softness, while we love the durability (just toss in the washer and dryer). It’s the best reward for a wet romp.
