In Harmony

Hear Now System’s Michael Joly and Alene Sibley turned to ancient history and leaned on backgrounds in audio engineering (Michael) and intuitive coaching (Alene) to create their innovative tone therapy system. A pair of sleek, palm-sized speakers play three minute sequences of peaceful sounds based on the ancient Pythagorean tuning system. This system has long been thought to encourage relaxation and wellness. Michael and Alene call their implementation of this ancient healing system New Origin Waveforms, or N.O.W. The duo's goal is to make meditating at home or the office as easy as pushing a button. So that’s all it takes to begin your three minute mini Zen moment. A session gives your mind the just-right amount of time to calm down and clear out, whether you use it for a mid-day reset or to explore meditation. The sequences play randomly on each speaker, so every session is a new arrangement of soothing sounds you haven’t heard before. The speakers shut off at three minutes, leaving you re-focused, re-energized, and ready to tackle the rest of the day.

Quick Questions

What’s the right way to use N.O.W.?

The right way is the way that is right for you. You can listen by yourself, with a partner, or with a group. You can listen in your quiet meditation room or on a bench waiting for the bus. You will need to power on both speakers to be sure you’re hearing the New Origin Waveform tones.
If you’re indoors, just press and release the power button. There will be a three-second gap before the tones start. This is a good time to take a deep centering breath. The initial power on volume level is set to be ideal for quiet indoor rooms.
If you’re outdoors or if you’re listening with a group, you may want to press and release “Power” then press and release “VOL” once or twice. A third press of “VOL” brings the volume back to the initial power on level.
Just listen. That’s it. If thoughts enter your mind you can either “blink them away” or simply note them, and then return your attention to listening.

What does N.O.W. stand for?

N.O.W. stands for New Origin Waveforms—solu's patent-pending aural neuromodulation process. Each time N.O.W. is used it creates an entirely new audible waveform sequence. The novelty of each new waveform sequence helps to gently pull your attention to the present moment. It simply helps you be more increasingly aware of being aware.

Are there options for longer listening times?

N.O.W. offers an ideal-length, three minute listening session only. It's brief so it will be easy to use every day to help with a quick reset.

Can I use N.O.W. in conjunction with yoga?

Yes, some people enjoy either starting or ending meditation or yoga sessions with N.O.W. The three minute duration is great for these applications also.
