Lunch Pad

Solvetta is a “flat box lunch box”— just unzip and it transforms into a placemat. It’s an easy, fun-looking way to contain mess and keep foods off unclean surfaces. If you have kids, you understand the importance of both. Founder Rita Floyd-Vester is a teacher and mom who witnessed how fast sickness spreads in school. She went looking for which areas were the main germ-laden culprits. Turns out, it’s cafeteria tables. They’re even germier than doorknobs and water fountains, a result of kids putting backpacks, books, and lunch boxes from the ground and floor onto the table. Rita invented the Solvetta Flatbox to carry a clean eating surface along with you. Made of soft, durable neoprene, it will stand up to repeated washings. And it's not just for school. One look at your office lunchroom will probably tell you Solvetta's Flatbox is also great for work, as well as picnics, beaches, boats, and barbecues.

    @Chrissi

    Hi Chrissi, thanks for asking! The FlatBox is made out of neoprene, which has great insulation in itself. In addition we have added an extra layer of insulation in the 4 sides to keep food extra cold. I can assure you that everything will stay cold in there with an icepack for 6-8 hours! Our quality is superb!

    I purchased one from Amazon and I love it. I bought it for my 5 year daughter for school. It is a great idea, I just wish it was just a tad bit larger. Once I put ice packs (flat ones), it does not always get everything in there. I have to provide lunch and 2 snacks. Perhaps if I did not need it for so much, it would look better. It is perfect for the park or her sport activities.

    I can see my friends in cancer country with me light up when given one of these. As you probley also know cancer sucks, and sucks all your money from you too while your trying to stay alive. @Rita In the same realm, I have Celiac Disease and cannot ingest even a crumb of gluten without big digestive issues. I bring my own food into restaurants with at least one paying customer with me, and contamination from unseen crumbs on the table is a huge concern. This product could be a life saver for Leslie and for me when we must eat away from home.

    I would definitely like a pocket, but a removable pouch that clips on somehow would make it easier to wash - pocket can't really be turned inside out to remove all debris for washing, but a pouch could do that. Could be sold seperately as an optional add on? I'd also like a larger size - As primary caretaker for my mom with cancer (my heart goes out to Leslie) I must bring a lot of food when Mom has a long treatment day, so I will watch for larger size.

    Thank you for a very good explanation about why you had to have this product made overseas, people don't realize it's not just a matter of cheaper that leads a maker there.

    And last, I'd need to buy a few of them so I can wash them often and always have one to use, qty discount would be nice, and maybe a set of the small one and a larger one at a lesser price than if bought individually?

    Great idea, look forward to your continued success (and possible expansion of the line - larger size etc.)
