SOS (Save Our Skin)

It’s amazing what three tiny drops of oil can do. U.K. chemist David Somerset has been perfecting his shaving oils for 21 years. He uses 100% natural oils made from pure plant extracts. The oils lubricate the blade for a cleaner, closer shave, and their natural healing properties help prevent skin irritation. Somersets Oils’ original formula combines a multitude of oils derived from plants such as rosemary, lavender, tea tree and sweet almond. Extra Sensitive Shave Oil adds rose hip seed oil and alpha bisabolol to help heal razor burn and protect sensitive skin, while Tough Stubble Shave Oil is infused with extra chamomile and tea tree oil to ease irritation and prevent razor bumps. Sandalwood oil and grapefruit oil are worked into the Women’s Extra Sensitive Shaving Oil. If you use just three drops per shave, a 15 ml bottle will last for up to 90 shaves and a 35 ml bottle will last for 260 shaves. It might take a leap of faith to try using a miniscule amount of oil in place of conventional aerosol foams or gels. But if you’re like us, it won’t take much to be converted. You won’t miss the reddened skin and razor bumps.

So you are saying you only need 3 drops of oil to shave your legs? Or is this for men's faces? Sounds amazing either way!

    Thank you

@ Connie: Men only need 3 drops for shaving their face; however women need 4-5 drops per leg. What works great for a women's leg is to dampen the leg or come out of the shower or bath, 4-5 drops on the leg to shave. The essential oil will not only give you an amazing shave with no bumps or rashes, it will also moisturize as the oil soaks into the skin and you don't need to rinse off. It's fast and easy with no mess!

My husdand has problems with ingrown hairs and my son hates to shave because he thinks it adds to acne flare-ups. Which of your products would you recomnend for this and also will it leave them feeling greasey? Is it non-comediogenic?

@Beth Lofay ... If you look on the ingrediant list, it has plant oils like Lavender, Tea Tree Oil, Rosemary, Cinnamon, and Sandalwood oil- these will kill any bacteria that cause pimples or ingrown hairs because of their anti-bacterial/fungacidal properties. I have not (yet) tried this product for myself, but I imagine as long as you follow the instructions as to the amount used, you shouldnt have problems. I put on body oil after showering and it absorbs quickly yet nothing makes for a better moisterizer :)
