SOVA

Night Shift

Grinding your teeth at night is no good for your smile, jaw, or your sleep, for that matter. The SOVA night guard adds a layer of custom-fitting protection that is so slim and comfortable, you might forget you’re even wearing it. No, really. SOVA is about half the thickness of a typical night guard. You can talk easily and even drink with it in. It’s non-compressible perforated surface pulls double duty by absorbing the force of grinding and clenching and directing it away from teeth. It also allows for better airflow. Rounded edges feel good against gums and because you mold the guard yourself at home—no trip to the dentist needed—it’s a more accessible way to ease discomfort and hopefully sleep better. The idea of creating a streamlined night guard came to Maker (and otolaryngology surgeon) Jan Akervall when he wanted to help protect the teeth of his patients during surgery. He and his wife Sassa soon realized the protection he envisioned was also the perfect fit for folks who grind their teeth at night.

Quick Questions

How do I fit the night guard? What if i want to remold my SOVA night guard?

Fitting the guard is easy and it is remoldable up to 20 times. See full instructions on how to custom fit your night guard.

One of the many unique features of SOVA night guard is that it has a built-in memory. When you want to remold, simply put it back into hot water. Then watch it straighten out and return to its original shape regardless of how long it has been since you last molded it.

How long will my SOVA last? Can I chew through the SOVA night guard?

It all depends on how well you take care of it. Cleaning it after each use with your toothbrush and regular toothpaste or rinsing it with mouthwash will extend the life of your mouthguard considerably. Keeping it clean and letting it dry before storing will help keep the germs at bay. The material itself will withstand harsh biting and chewing, but it's still recommended that you replace your SOVA night guard after five months to make sure that you have a perfect mouthguard every time you use it.

You will not experience the same problem with this night guard as with many others because no matter how much you gnaw, you will not be able to chew through the SOVA night guard. Its non-compressible material won't allow your teeth through, which is why it protects your teeth so well. When you are fitting the night guard, the material becomes soft. Make sure that you don't bite through or overstretch it while fitting the night guard. If the material is thinned out, it will not protect you as well.

Can I wear SOVA with braces?

Yes. SOVA night guards work great with braces because they can be remolded as teeth are shifting throughout treatment. In order to successfully fit your SOVA night guard, a protective barrier (such as dental wax) is needed to cover the brackets during the fitting process. We recommend having your orthodontist help with the fitting.

Does one size fit all?

SOVA is custom fitted exactly to your teeth so there is no need for different sizes. It is made for ages 11 and up. If under 11 years old, consult your dental provider.

Do I need one top and one bottom or is just one night guard enough to protect my teeth? Can I wear it during the day?

You can certainly wear a SOVA night guard on both your top and bottom teeth. It's a matter of preference. Wearing two will give you even better protection.

Yes. SOVA night guard can protect your teeth from the harmful effects of both daytime and nighttime grinding and clenching.

What does the warranty cover?

SOVA warrants that there are no defects in the materials or workmanship of the night guard that cause damage or injury to the sound, natural teeth of the user when properly used. It has a 120 days durability warranty. If you manage to chew through or in any other way by wear or tear, destroy your SOVA Night Guard, please send it back to SOVA with the original receipt and an explanation and they will replace it for a new one.
