Quick Tie Stakes & Spinners

No Knots Needed

Grommet Launch Conversation

Hello everyone! I'm proud to introduce Speed Cinch to The Grommet. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have!
-
Can this be used when you don't have an end to feed through the pipe? In other words, when both ends are fastened to something but you need to tighten & cinch a section in the middle? Or when the end is very large, e.g. wrapped around a reel?
-
@Francine
Hi Francine! You do need an end to be able to feed through the barrel. -
@Cindy Well, rats. I was all excited when I first saw this, and hoping to buy some. But it won't work for my uses. Back to trying to learn knots.
-
@Francine NOTE: I do not have this item, yet!, but I will offer a possibility... It might depend on how much slack you have in your rope that is already anchored and how thick that rope is. Take up the slack and form a loop (as when creating one half of the bow for tying shoe laces). Insert that loop through the speed cinch and pull tight into the V-slot. If there is enough slack pull the loop through far enough to reach the opposite end V-slot and wedge it in there.
We will have to get the manufacturer to confirm if this suggestion might work.

@otto
Yes, if you have enough slack, that will work. The Spinner works with lines and cords up to 1/4" diameter. Thank you! -
regarding the ground stake: the video examples employ a almost horizontal application (of the rope load). is there anything on the stake itself that would be effective in a near vertical load situation (ie: securing a pop-up canopy type shelter to the ground from the top of the legs)?? thanks for the information in advance
-
@steve
Hi Steve! Yes, the Speed Cinch Stakes were designed to secure these types of pop-up shelters. It will work perfectly. Thank you for your question. -
what is the weight limit on the cinch? can it be used to affix a hammock for 2 to a tree?
-
@Elaine
Hi Elaine! The Spinner is rated to support up to 150 lbs. Thank you! -
2 questions. How thin/thick of a rope will this accommodate? How well does this anchor in sand?
-
@Guest Hello! Please use cord between 1/8" to 1/4" diameter. The Speed Cinch Stake will work in hard packed sand. It's not designed for loose sand. Thank you!
-
I'm can't tell from the photos-- is the angle on the ground stakes fixed or adjustable?
-
@Sandra Hi Sandra, The angle is built in to the Speed Cinch Stake for optimal use.
-
Screwing the anchor into a tree doesn't seem environmentally correct; especially at popular campground sites if everyone starts using them. Is there an alternative way to use this on a tree or just go back to using a good ole slip knot?
-
@Ken Thank you, Ken! There are Speed Cinch options that do not require screwing into a tree. Please let The Grommet know that you'd be interested in seeing these, as well.
-
Hi, would this work for staking a tent at the beach, in sand?
Thank you -
@Adriana Great question, Adriana! Yes, these would would great for staking a tent at the beach if the sand is hard packed.
-
@Cindy
Would this work with a dog on a leash? -
It certainly could, Robin.
