Strapped & Secure

Anyone who’s ever tried to strap a mattress to the roof of a car or a sleeping bag to a backpack knows that it can often be easier said than done. That’s why avid outdoorsman and engineer, Courtney Ashliman, has come up with an innovative alternative to rubber bungee cords. Made of a proprietary silicone blend uniquely suited to hold your gear securely in place even in the most extreme temperatures, these waterproof, UV resistant utility straps are flat, not round, in order to minimize roll and maximize grip. Engineered to stretch up to two times its original length, each strap features adjustable eyelet holes and 360 degree rotating non-puncture hooks for mixing, matching and easy attaching. Our testers found StrapGear not only handy in the great outdoors but for household organization as well and it's available in assorted lengths and colors. Affix it and forget about it. It’s that easy.

Hey everyone, I’m Courtney, creator of StrapGear. Thanks for checking out these awesome little straps. Although I always focus on my outdoor uses, I can’t emphasize enough how handy they are around the home, car, or RV. My wife always keeps a couple in her purse and in drawers around the house. They’ve become as much of a necessity as Duct Tape!

Please feel free to ask questions or provide feedback. We love talking to customers and hearing all the creative ideas and uses for StrapGear. One customer used StrapGear to hold the broken sole of his shoe onto his foot and then hiked over 20 miles on it! Your stories inspire us.

    Hi Jim,

Amy from The Grommet team here. Thanks so much for that feedback - it's a good idea and I'm sure others will have the same thought. Right now we are selling same color packs but we'll be sure to let you know if that changes. Courtney will be appreciative of the feedback too, I'm sure.

These look great, just have a few questions: about max weight limits? Were they tested for temperature exposures? and what are the hooks made out of and has there been any detachment of them from their straps?

@Dana Great questions! The hook to hook load rating is 20 to 30 pound max depending on how the load is applied. The load rating from hook to eyelet hole is 10 to 15 pounds max. Cold testing to -30 deg F and heat is 350 deg F. The strap can handle 500 deg+F. Part of our patent covers how we retain the hook in the strap and allows full rotation. The proprietary silicone strap material is over molded over the hooks during the manufacturing process. The hooks are glass filled nylon. The hook will break before it will pull out of the strap.

Can it get splinters from wood

    Hi Yesenia,

While the strap is highly durable, because it is flexible and grippy, there is the potential for splinters to breach the surface of the strap.
