Sweet Indulgence

Jeff Shinaman and Katie Camarro always knew the hot fudge sauce that Jeff’s mom made was exceptional. Friends encouraged them to bottle it, and they thought about it. But it wasn’t until a discovery in the classified ads that Jeff and Katie finally decided to share the family’s treasured sundae sauce with the world. That discovery? A 1956 International Harvester Travelall van. It was the perfect vehicle, loaded with character, for spreading the word about Sundaes Best Hot Fudge Sauce. Handmade in the hills overlooking Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Sundaes Best sauces are made with real chocolate and cocoa, plus milk, cream and sweet butter from a local dairy. The original hot fudge sauce is creamy and smooth -- the ultimate chocolate lover’s delight. Sundaes Best also offers flavored varieties, including Chazzy’s Cherry, Russell’s Landing Raspberry, Howard’s Hazelnut, Marilyn’s Mint, Olivia’s Orange, Patty’s Peanut Butter and Jean’s Java. They’re perfect for topping ice cream, fruit and cake. Or if you’re like us, you might not be able to resist eating them by the spoonful.

Hi Daily Grommet Community. When I was a little girl, my Grandma and I, dressed in our Sunday best, had a tradition of visiting the local ice cream shops to enjoy hot fudge sundaes. So it was only fate that my partner Jeff's Mom was the caretaker of the World's best fudge sauce recipe. Now, we have made the sauce that has been the jewel of social gatherings for 50+ years available to you. We have expanded that original recipe by adding fresh and wonderful flavors that any dessert lover will enjoy.

I am glad to be here today, so please ask me any questions you have, how the names came to be, how to care for a 1956 International Harvester Travelall or how to enjoy our sauces. Just don't ask me the recipe because I will never tell.

Hands down the best hot fudge sauce I've ever had. Our household loves the Original, Cherry and Mint the best, but all of the flavors are good. Any new flavors in the works?

OK, so I've "sampled" (if a sample is ladel-sized!) each chocolate fudge sauce flavor ...and can swear by oath that they are all FABULOUS!

I do lean towards the Hazelnut if I had to pick just one.

Truly the BEST chocolate sauce I have ever tasted...completely satisfies when you need that chocolate fix!

@Jennifer Lanne: Sweet Jennifer! By the spoon is the best way to satisfy that chocolate urge!! I agree!! Hazelnut is delicious warmed, and poured over creme puffs topped with nuts (toasted hazelnuts) and lots of homemade whip cream for when you really want to splurge! In chocolate! Thanks for choosing Sundaes Best! With sweet regards, Katie

Excellent sauces, and as Katie says- you don't need ice cream, just a spoon. The original fudge and the hazelnut are my favorites. Keep up the flavor search, though- I'm happy to be a taste tester!

We have to agree with you guys, these sauces will keep you coming back even if you don't have ice cream around. At the birthday party featured in the video the Daily Grommet team was going back for more sauce on raspberries and cookies even after their ice cream was gone! Eating it right out of the jar is delicious, too.

    Hi there!

I was interested in the Mix n' Match Gift Trio. When I looked at the flavors that I could choose from, I did not see "original flavor" in the drop down box. Is it correct that this flavor is unavailable for the trio? Please let me know.

    Thank you,

    Cleo

@Cleo..yes, you can choose the original as a flavor in the trio box set.

It's one of my favorites! Pure creamy, chocolate goodness! Some customers just order all 3 jars as the original. The packaging was designed by my brother on law, Ian as a great gift for chocolate lovers.Hope you enjoy yours! Thanks for choosing Sundaes Best & Daily Grommet.
