This was a gift to a friend in Nigeria where the power is turned off frequently by the government. This allows them to keep cell phones charged, they get plenty of sun!More > < Less

This is a must-have!

Being a full-time RVer, there are times when I have no power. Sure, I could go to my truck and charge things there - and have - but it's annoying, and frankly, does add wear and tear to your batteries.

AS soon as this arrived, I showed it to my daughter and son-in-law - both avid tent campers. Most of the time they want to be off the grid, but, for those moments, when they need a connection, this would be ideal.

Knowing I can charge my phone, iPad and MiFi Jet Pack when I want means peace of mind. One of my grandchildren HAS to have his games - no problem - this can handle that.

I didn't realize at first that not only can you charge two devices at the same time on the battery pack, but you can also plug two items into the solar charger panel itself. That may not be needed often, but I can see my summer coworkers at the campground asking to charge their devices.

Someone mentioned that the case can fade - but I have no issue with that. AS long as it charges the way it does - it's gold. I just ordered a second one for an anniversary gift for my daughter and son-in-law

SunJack 14W solar panel

by

There is no way I can put this panel outdoors; I have a west facing window, so I put it there. There was no way to hang it, so I laid it on its edge on the windowsill, and let the blinds down in back of it to keep it from falling over. This facility has double-paned windows, and I put it up to charge my Galaxy Note 4, which I believe has a capacity of. 3220 mAh, from 3 pm to sundown at 6 pm, so I wasn't expecting too much. I powered down the phone before I connected it.
My phone charged from 19% to 50% in spite of the window glass and short time.

One thing that surprised me is that the female USB ports on the SunJack's included battery and on the panel's port are short, so that male USB connectors will not insert fully, leaving about 1/8 inch of the connector exposed. This doesn't prevent it from working, and I don't recall any mention of this in any reviews good or bad that I looked up on the internet before I bought this product. I can put a strip of electrical tape over it for the duration of the connection if I think I need to.

My bathroom has a four-tube fluorescent light, and I will try charging my phone under it.
