FireFlies Audio

Wire-Free Bluetooth Earbuds

Wireless Audio

These wireless earbuds will free you from the hassle of getting your wires caught on clothing, furniture, or anywhere else.

Charge FireFlies in their carrying case, then put them on for wire-free, Bluetooth listening. Wear them outside or while working out—they stand up to sweat and water.

Like the summertime critters they’re
named for, FireFlies emit a soft glow when they’re on. They can play music for three hours straight after being charged in their convenient, no-bigger-than-a-golf-ball case. Every time the case is powered up, it’ll have the energy to charge your earbuds three times.

To give you a great, secure fit, each pair comes with different-sized silicone tips and locking wings that hold on tight while you run, jog, or walk. It’s easy to keep track of the earbuds, too, when the carrying case is also the charging station.

Whether you’re listening to podcasts or playlists, FireFlies will shine some innovative light on your on-the-go audio.

David, this says 'water resistant', does that mean I could swim laps (not dive, of course) with these? Thanks.

  • David

    4/25/2017 11:02 AM

@Mary Alice Water resistant in this case would mean that they are resistant to sweat and light rain. I wouldn't recommend swimming with them on.

These are not worth the cost. The Bluetooth connection drops constantly on one side making them unusable. Do not waste your money on them. Bought a pair when they were being crowd-funded. First pair did not work so requested a replacement. Replacement was worse than the first pair. Still no resolution from the company. I tweeted to Grommet they should not advertise them, but here they are still doing it. Losing some credibility with me, David. Making a bad name for Grommet!

@Timothy I'm sorry to here that was your experience. We've been hard at work the last few months making improvements to the product and I can assure you that you won't encounter those same issues. We will be sure to coordinate with the Grommet to send you a replacement on the new and improved product.

It says there are different size silicone covers -- I have extra small ear canals and have quite a problem fitting any kind of earbuds comfortably. Would these work for a child size ear? If they won't fit in my ears comfortably can I return them for a full refund? Thanks!

  • David

@Allyson FireFlies should fit with the smallest silicone tips!

  • David

@Veronica The locking wings won't fit into the charging case! I will pass this idea onto our team for future models!

David, what is the dynamic range and total harmonic distortion of the FireFlies?

  • David

@Mitchell, The Harmonic Distortion is 5% Max @ (1KHz, 1mW) and the Dynamic Range is 20Hz-20kHz. I hope this helps!

I have had four different pairs of bluetooth headphones and the batteries in all of them died within six months (they appear to be charging but won't hold a charge). I am in the market for a new pair but am hesitating because of my past experience. What is the projection for how long these will last?

  • David
    David – Special Guest

@Nancy Their minimum lifecycle is 24 months

Not a good idea to place an RF microwave transmitter in your ear.

Is it safe to use a cell phone up? Here’s what the experts have concluded after extensive studies:

“The majority of studies published have failed to show an association between exposure to radiofrequency from a cell phone and health problems”

    – Food and Drug Administration

“At this time we do not have the science to link health problems to cell phone use. Scientific studies are underway to determine whether cell phone use may cause health effects.”

    – Center for Disease Control and Prevention

“There is no scientific evidence that proves that wireless phone usage can lead to cancer or a variety of other problems, including headaches, dizziness or memory loss.”

    – Federal Communications Commission

FireFlies are significantly lower in power output than a cell phone and not capable of emitting radiation levels of that of a cell phone. The average Bluetooth headset emits one thousand times less radiation than cell phones themselves. We consider FireFlies to be a safe product and hope this information helps with your concerns.

well, these look great to me!?? (sorry commenters) David, 2 questions? 1.do most need the "wings"? 2. can you clarify the 3 separate "cycles"? (I can be thick) doesn't it just charge and then need recharging? I don't get it. thanks

  • David
    David – Special Guest
    4/25/2017 12:58 PM

@christopher Great questions! The Charging Pod will fully charge your earbuds 3 times before you will need to recharge it (the case). The wings are a personal preference! Most don't need them, but some prefer them with a more intense workout. I hope that helps!

I have single sided deafness and previously most headphones tend to split the music into bass and treble for each ear so i have been buying special earphone that either puts two speakers into one for one ear or they put two separate speakers into one side of a headphone. Will these earphones give me the full range of the music if you use only one side?

  • David
    David – Special Guest
    4/25/2017 1:02 PM

@Craig FireFlies are standard stereo earbuds. They have a left and a right channel, with a single speaker in each earbud. If the track you are playing was mixed to play both treble and base in the same side, then they should work great!
