Earhoox

Earbud Securer

Airpod Attatchment

Many of us have a love-hate relationship with earbuds.

Yes, they provide a private soundtrack for your life, but they can also be uncomfortable and hard to keep in place. Earhoox are soft silicone earbud attachments that fit in the crook of your ear, applying traction to key points for secure—and really comfortable—listening.

Earhoox are so well liked that, after launching on The Grommet and selling more than 150,000 pairs, Makers Jeff Becker and Helmut Wyzisk used your feedback to make them even better.

Jeff and Helmut improved the elasticity tire that attaches to your buds, so they won’t fall off or get lost in your pocket/backpack. They also cut down on the silicone, so your Earhoox take up less space and feel lighter, too.

Engineered for active lifestyles (or just chilling), these waterproof, fin shaped hooks secure to the bud, disperse its weight, and stay put with maximum coziness.

I really like this product and could see it becoming a big seller. My only concern is the Made in China part of the product. I realize the cost of manufacturing this product is probably less in China, but I would be willing to pay a little more in order to buy a Made in the USA product. Having said that, if you ever do decide to use a US manufacturer, I would be more than happy to purchase this product.

@Rita Thanks! We totally understand and we continue to strive to bring manufacturing to the US. It's a serious goal of ours! Unfortunately though, even aside from costs, it has been difficult to even get US manufacturers interested in our production. It's a small product and we're a small company, so we hope as we grow we can get the attention of the US manufacturers and make the switch! (The China manufacturer we chose for now has offices in Utah)

Well, here is hoping that there is an American manufacturer out there that can SEE the potential here and you can make the switch!

Will these work with BOSE earbuds?

@Patricia Do you have a particular model? Earhoox fit on most earbuds that have a circular shaped earpiece, most popularly are Apple, Sony, JVC, but Bose isn't something we've seen too often so far.

It looks like you are using these with the Apple earbuds. Will these work on other products like a bluetooth earpiece, like plantronics, jawbone, etc?

  • Helmut

    2/20/2014 12:54 PM

@Linda Definitely! Earhoox are made of stretchy silicone, so as long as the bluetooth piece is a round shape then they'll fit great. You can also check out our instagram @earhoox to see the different earbuds and bluetooth pieces our customers use with earhoox.

@Cheryl We haven't tried them on Zipbuds yet...Sorry! Our customers seem to find a way to make earhoox fit on all different types of earbuds though, check out our instagram (@earhoox) for some examples :)

The video seems to show the older Apple earbud model. Have you tested with the newer, more oval shaped model from Apple?

@Guest We have! On the Earhoox purchase page you'll notice The Grommet is cool enough to offer two models of earhoox. 1) For all round earbuds and 2) For the newer Apple EarPod (Oval shaped buds). The Apple EarPod version of earhoox are made with an extra hole for their forward facing speaker.

How well do these work in children's ears? We have such a hard time finding earbuds that will stay in my 6-year-olds ear because they are so tiny. So I am wondering if these would help Apple earbuds stay in? TIA

@Kristina Kids are some of earhoox's biggest fans! Each package contains a small pair and a large pair. The smalls work great for the little ears. One of our littler fans even put them to the test: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFtyYhc5uFM

I was told about this product by a friend, and was able to see it first hand by him before I purchased. I now have a pair for the new Apple EarBuds as well as the original iPhone/Ipod headphones, both work excellent. I mainly use them in the gym and when running.

I got these as opposed to buying new headphones that are made to stay in your ear better because of the price. I figured why not give it a shot. Great product, great price, great addition to the EarPods you get with your iPhone anyways!

I have these in two styles - ones for flat earbuds (the original Apple style) and ones for the newer shape Apple earbuds - kind of elliptical shape. (Actually, the originals fit ok on my newer earbuds too.) They work wonderfully! Without them my earbuds fall out of my ears even when I'm sitting; the earhoox have solved a longstanding irritating problem for me! I highly recommend them!

Will these work with headsets that come with cell phones (e.g., standard ear buds in the Samsung Galaxy S3)? If not, do you plan to release a product that would work?

  • Helmut & Jeff

@moo Earhoox were created with traditional round style earbud in mind, but our fans have shown us time and again how they make them work on all different types of buds. They still feel best with traditional style buds, but I actually wear them on the earbuds that came with my S3 too. For the S3 buds, they improve the fit and do finally stay in while I jog, but I wouldn't say it's as comfortable as with my round Apple earbuds (It's just that heavenly).

Yes! We are currently working on a model specifically for those smaller, in-ear buds. We are always striving to improve and constantly creating new products such as our new model specifically for the Apple EarPods which come with all iPhone 5's.

    Hi Brian,

There may be similarities but I'll let Helmut chime in on the differences.

  • Helmut & Jeff

@Brian Bose Stayhears are similar to earhoox, but two major differences come to mind. One is flexibility. Earhoox are made to adapt to all different brands of earbuds, so you get a great feeling fit for every set of buds you already own. Earhoox strives to give people a premium feel without the high price. Second, is our proprietary material blend and fin shape. We spent months prototyping different shapes to get that perfect fit and feel.

    I hope that helps, Brian!

Hello, my issue is that my ears are small and every pair of earbuds I try are just too big and they hurt quite a bit. I'm hesitant to want to put anything more in my ear...

  • Helmut & Jeff
Helmut & Jeff – Special Guest
    2/21/2014 1:13 PM

@Guest We totally understand your small ear conundrum. You jam them in there - they pop back out - you jam them in again - OUCH! They get sore...oof it's not fun. The one major benefit of having earhoox attached is it allows you to use your upper ear to add support, taking a lot of pressure off your ear hole itself (which is tiny in your case). Even if your ear hole is small, we all have a "concha" above which is what earhoox uses to share the support of the earbud. We have found a lot of our biggest fans are those who share your same small ear problem and children as well. If you decide to give earhoox a try, you can always provide feedback directly to me at [email protected] and I'll make sure your experience is a good one!
