New Dimensions

This Bluetooth measuring device works like a magic wand. Size up any curve, contour, and jagged edge in a single motion. Roll the tip over surfaces to compile all their dimensions—width, depth, length—directly on your device. Once they’re logged you can share and even change units instantly. Find out precisely how much fabric you need to re-carpet your stairs or upholster furniture—or if the shelf you saw at the store will fit in that living room nook. You set the task. It’ll measure up to it. InstruMMents even has a “blink interval” for arranging things at perfect, equidistant intervals (think: picture frames, buttons, or wall hooks). It lets you know when you’ve hit your mark, so you can do your decorating in the blink of an eye. You hold it like a pen and use it like a measuring tape—except it’s significantly sleeker and has triple the dimensions. Whether you’re a professional or a DIYer, this tool inspires you to take matters into your own hands.

    My husband does a lot of yard work and landscaping, building, etc. It looks like this pen can only be used on solid, smooth surfaces. Is that correct?

    @Rebecca

    Thanks for reaching out Rebecca! The way 01 works is that it can capture dimensions of anything you can physically roll across. The surface can be straight contoured, or complex (wires).

    @scott The sensor itself is accurate to 0.1mm. However, just like any other hand held device, you must consider some human error when rolling across objects.

    Has there been a preference pen over pencil?

  • Mladen

    @Liz It really just depends on your personal preference. If you prefer to work with a mechanical pencil, then the pencil would be a good option. If you typically use a pen, then the pen would be best suited for you.

    @Julie The blink feature allows you to set a distance in the InstruMMents app, and when you are rolling the 01, the red laser will blink each time it hits the distance that has been set. It works great for hanging multiple pictures on the wall!

    @Denise Absolutely, you can use 01 on anything you can physically roll on. In the future, we're also looking to add a feature in the InstruMMents app which will give you an automatic area of your dimensions.
