SmartKlear

Carbon Device Cleaner

Clean Screen

Watch your screen become squeaky clean with this simple smartphone cleaner.

SmartKlear’s carbon cleaning technology is actually used by NASA in their space station. After you’ve swiped the pad across the screen a few times, your screen will be clear. Then, when you replace the pad into the holder, the friction between it and the
pad in the cap causes the carbon molecules to shift—giving a fresh cleaning surface every time.

Needless to say, we use and take our phones everywhere. All that travel and touching makes them a breeding ground for bacteria. SmartKlear’s all natural antibacterial formula will get rid of your phone’s sneaky biosphere.

Keep this device handy in your pocket or let it be a permanent resident in your backpack. If it’s good enough for space shuttles, it’s good enough for your screen.

Hi! We're happy to be launching Smart Klear on The Grommet today. There's a fair bit of technology in our smartphone cleaner, and I'm looking forward to telling you more about it!

Sounds like a great accessory for our phones! Can this be used on the plastic cases such as the Otter some of use for breakage protection?

@Steve Hi there and thanks for the question. It will defiantly clean and disinfect the screen for you. That's the same case my wife has and it works well.

@Daniel can this be used to disinfect the non screen portion of a protective case? The back and sids of the case must be a germ factory also.

@Mike great question. I wouldn't recommend it, only because you'll get some many less cleanings for your screen and that is the surface touching your face. Thanks.

Hi Daniel! This works on greasy fingerprints, correct? And it won't scratch my screen?

  • Daniel
    Daniel – Special Guest
    10/27/2016 10:49 AM

@Mary Thanks for the question. Yes, it will clean fingerprints off your screen better than anything else. In fact, when NASA needed a cleaning method, they came to us and have been using us exclusively since the 1990's. No, you don't need to worry about it scratching your screen and the cleaning pads are even replaceable.

I'm intrigued with this, but how long does one pad last? And can it be used on larger screens like tablets and TV's?

  • Daniel

    10/27/2016 11:07 AM

    @Michael

Hi there and thanks for the question. Your SmartKlear will typically clean 300 times, and the cleaning pads are not only replaceable but are offered her on The Grommet. Yes, you can use it on larger surfaces like a tablet, but it will not last as long as the surface area is much larger. Thanks again.

Hi Daniel, About how long does a set of pads last?

  • Daniel
    Daniel – Special Guest
    10/27/2016 11:10 AM

@Kevin thanks so much for the question. I wish I could give you a time frame, but it truly depends on how often you clean your phone with it. Usually a cleaning pad will last a few months. So the replacement pack, having two pads should last double that. Again, depending on your use of the pads. As anyone who has a SmartKlear knows, you will clean your phone all the time.

I'd like to know how long one pad lasts also. Interesting that three of asked this question & got no answer.

@Marie hi marie. Unfortunately there is no good answer because everyone uses their cleaner differently and in certain amounts. Typically they will last a couple months. thanks for the question

  • Daniel
    Daniel – Special Guest
    10/27/2016 12:01 PM

@Marie. If you are asking about the pads lifespan, as in does it have an expiration, no, they do not ever expire. They don't lose lifespan until they are used. thanks

How do you know when the pad needs to be replaced?

  • Daniel
    Daniel – Special Guest
    10/27/2016 11:22 AM

@Jeff great question. When the molecules simply cannot hold anymore they will simply refuse to try and you won't get any kind of clarity to your screen. That's when you'll know its time for a new pad.

  • Robert
    Robert
    10/27/2016 2:14 PM

@Daniel so as the pad is used absorption will get progressively worse with an average pad lifespan of 300 uses? At 150 uses it will only be half as effective?

  • Daniel
    Daniel – Special Guest
    10/27/2016 2:18 PM

@Robert. Hi There, great question. Actually no, the unit works the same from the first cleaning to the end, until the molecules simply do not have any exposed, clean edges remaining.

What about using these on glasses. I realize the lenses are curved and your Smart Klear appears rigid, but have you found them to be useful for cleaning glasses?

@Daniel Hi. What about the pad on the inside of the storage, can that be replaced as well

  • Daniel
    Daniel – Special Guest
    10/27/2016 12:27 PM

@Laura Hi there. Thanks for the question. No, that particular pad cannot be replaced, but it's only function is that it provides a molecular contact with the cleaning pad, so it doesn't need to be replaced. Great question. I've never been asked that before.

  • Douglas

    10/27/2016 12:10 PM

If it's that good can I chance this on a camera sensor which is super sensitive to scratches and dust, does this actually 'lifts' dust particles off the surface without scratching?

  • Daniel
    Daniel – Special Guest
    10/27/2016 12:31 PM

@Douglas Hi there. Actually we started in the camera industry and have been the world leader in cleaning camera lenses since the 1990's. Manufacturers like Nikon, Olympus, Kodak, Ricoh and many, many others use our cleaning technology exclusively for camera lenses. However this particular device isn't designed to clean camera lenses. thanks for the question.

  • Laura
    Laura
    10/27/2016 12:19 PM

Can the inside pad in the storage area be replaced as well?

  • Daniel
    Daniel – Special Guest
    10/27/2016 12:33 PM

@Laura Hi there. Great question. No, that pad cannot be replaced but that's because its only purpose is to provide a molecular reaction with our cleaning pad. It never holds any oil itself, it just provides a friction reaction. I've been using my current SmartKlear for over a year with no problems. You just have to replace the cleaning pads when needed. Thanks again.

    10/27/2016 1:25 PM

@Pamela, Hi there and thanks for the question. We get asked that question quite a bit actually. We have planned in late 2017 to come out with a cleaner specifically for the touch screens in automotive. However, the windows are just too much surface area for us right now. I believe, with all of the interest that is something we will look at in the future though. Thanks for the question and sorry.
