Ice and easy

For cold therapy that hits the spot, try The FRoller, an America-made handheld massager that you can freeze and roll over achy muscles to reduce inflammation. Massachusetts State track coach, Bob L’Homme, came up with this cool idea in 2009 after one of his cross-country athletes said he wished there was such a thing as a massager with frozen beads. Bob made that wish come true when he brought the concept for an “icer” and massager all rolled into one to the UMass Dartmouth Advanced Technology and Manufacturing center where the first prototype was developed. Whether you’re in great shape or just trying to get back into shape, nobody is immune to aches and pains. The FRoller puts all the benefits of ice therapy in your hands without the mess of traditional methods like ice cups and bags that drip as they melt and can be awkward to hold. The entire FRoller, spindle and all, can go right in the freezer. Or you can remove and freeze just the gel-filled plastic rollers. Then, re-attach and get rolling. Since the spindle and rollers are flexible, the FRoller molds to problem areas for added relief. The next time your muscles get sore, grab The FRoller and let it roll.

    @Bob

    How long do the rollers stay cold? Are the rollers hard plastic? I have plantar fasciitis and hoping it might help.

    P.S. I tried to add a separate comment but Grommet wouldn't let me.

    @Bonnie Bonnie, the rollers stay freezing cold for about 5-10 minutes but stays cold for an hour or so. It depends on what the ambient temperature is. they are made of hard plastic
