Funny that this is today's Grommet. My husband got a new laptop for Christmas and just yesterday, while cleaning and reorganizing our room, we couldn't figure out where to store it. He's been tucking it away in one of the drawers, but having cleaned out all of the junk in the drawers, I am adamant that clothes are the only items stored in them. It looks like an awesome product that would definitely solve our problem, but, unfortunately, at $120.00, too far out of our price range.

I don't know what they were thinking off, because it is really nothing more than a narrowed magazine rack with one small pockets. And, as for scratches, my devices go on tables etc .. which I am sure makes them more prone to scratching than just sitting pretty while being charged. So, for me that argument simply does not hold water.

Hey everybody, Mike from The Grommet here. Thank you all for your comments today, we appreciate the feedback. That is what the board is here for. It seems to be a consensus this is a great product that solves a problem for many people. We agree. That's why it was launched today. The price may seem excessive, but it is new-to-market and of high-quality design. If it is something you would use everyday, it will end up paying for itself as the materials will keep all of your devices (and most importantly their screens) safe from harm for years if treated right.

Hi Mike, sorry to disagree but technology unfortunately does not have a long shelf life. A new on is on the horizon as soon as the current one is launched. Besides, most devices already have cases, screen protectors etc .... and also, a device being charged just sits there.

I too originally looked at this "tuck" device rack and felt it was perhaps too expensive, but knowing that it comes from Modko, I know it will be well-made and it is also a great design, and, if you want something this stylish, the price is well worth it!

Hey there all, Grommet CEO here. There's a maelstrom of comments on the Tuck pricing and the point has been very clearly made that it's questionably high for a large cohort of our community. I do have to share my own experience of clearing off my desk this weekend to do a sewing project and wishing for another home for my computer, like I have for my magazines. As so often happens, I discovered my team is ahead of me on this, in surfacing the Tuck.

But at the end of the day we all have to put our hard-earned money against solving the problems that most matter to us. For some people (like the person who mentioned she really liked Modko products) the Tuck solution will be "important" enough. For others a DIY or status quo solution is smarter.

We don't have to agree--this board is way more useful when there is a variety of points of view. Thanks for all that have shared theirs. I'd love to see some new thoughts here. Any other Modko afficianados or other observations outside of price?

While I understand you get what you pay for and this looks very well built as well as very functional, the sad truth is there just isn't enough disposable income out there that the average wage earner can justify this high of a price that puts it in the category of a luxury item.

If I want to store my iPad and my MacBook Pro and/or other things, there should be protection between the devices. Modko thanks all of you so much for viewing our product and providing your comments! We set out to create products that best solve the problem and do so using the best materials and manufacturing processes for the job. Unfortunately, that sometimes means it may cost more. Keeping cost down is always a priority, but as a small company we aren’t always afforded the best prices by manufacturers. Therefore we compete with the big guys by providing unique products that solve a problem, function great and look beautiful. Please keep your comments coming and we look forward to hearing from anybody who gives it try!
