Hats On

We’re taking cover under cadet-style caps. With cutout graphics and a casually distressed vibe, these unisex caps are effortlessly chic. Plus they send uplifting messages. Each one is an expression of peace, happiness, positive thinking and other social sentiments. The creators are David Hellstrom and Nancy Spangrud, the duo behind the custom map-making company Map Your Travels. They were brainstorming how to use maps in new applications and came up with the idea to put a map on a hat with the motto, “Think globally.” That combo spurred a flurry of other messaging ideas and led to the launch of Thinking Caps (which are making their debut here on Daily Grommet). David and Nancy teamed with a sustainable apparel designer to create the caps, which are made from 100% organic cotton. They’re distinguished by a number of fine details: multi-layered stitching, embroidered messaging, deliberately frayed edges, and a surprise graphic design on the inside of each cap. You can take cover from the sun (or disguise a bad-hair day) and voice your passion with one cool lid. It won’t take long for a Thinking Cap to become your favorite go-to topper.

Thanks Kate, they are super cute! We had them at a trade show to get some initial feedback and people lined up hoping to buy the samples! The THINK BIG hat samples were going to a few students as graduation gifts - wish I would have thought of that!

The cotton is grown in India and Turkey and certified organic by Oregon Tilth. The fabric is made in accordance to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). Thinking Caps are assembled in China by a facility that is audited on a regular basis to ensure safe and fair employment practices. We made sure of that!!

Just ordered the "Think Again" hat and am SO excited for it to arrive! I really liked all the messages and the inside designs, but "Think Again" really resonated with me - because it's such a great, wide-ranging message. I just love the idea that people walking by will see these hats and maybe not mull over the details, but it'll at least make them pause for a second and...think!

Thanks for this Grommet, it's one of my faves!

Will this hat ever be in stock again?
