Tooletries

Hard-Case Dopp Kit

Tough for Travel

Tooletries is the tougher, more rugged version of the traditional dopp kit—like a toolbox for your toiletries.

Made with a heavy-duty, hard-shell material and a sturdy handle, Tooletries protects your bathroom accessories from the rigors of travel. The outside is strong to save electronics—like your razor or toothbrush—from
impact damage.

Tooletries puts most of those soft-sided kits to shame. Inside, removable silicone netting helps keep your items secure, while the waterproof neoprene lining provides extra cushioning. This hard-case dopp kit is also designed to keep any spills from seeping into your luggage. If anything does spill inside, it’s really easy to clean, too.

Makers Josh and Saul Cockburn knew that often the fallback gifts for guys are tools and toiletries. They thought: Why not combine those two things? Just like that, the idea for Tooletries came to life.

Tooletries is the ultimate dopp kit. Leave the soft, floppy kits behind, because this toiletry case isn’t messing around.

Will the airlines let you take it on the plane in your carryon luggage as long as each fluid item is less than 3 oz.?

@Jane Hello Jane. Thank you for your question. The answer is YES. We have made it so you don't even have to open it up. But if you do it displays fully open very nicely.

    @Josh

Do you have anything in writing from TSA. It's written requirements are clear - a one quart clear plastic bag max with no more than 3 oz sized containers

If TSA has provided a written exemption from that rule for this product, I would be interested

@David TSA Rules... 3-1-1 for carry-ons. Liquids, gels, aerosols, creams and pastes must be 3.4 ounces (100ml) or less per container; must be in 1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag; 1 bag per passenger placed in screening bin. The bag limits the total liquid volume each traveler can bring.

There's no way that TSA will allow this in a carry on since it is not clear (i.e. see-through) UNLESS you have official pre-check status which means that you can leave your liquids inside the suitcase and they just look at the X-ray. In that case, they MIGHT let you slide on the overall size, which is slightly larger than a quart sized bag, based on the dimensions below. But, if it's a by-the-book TSA agent, you could have a problem. I can see the advantages for someone who travels a lot and usually CHECKS a bag. But, without an official TSA approval, I wouldn't risk it in a carryon.

That sounds like a solid plan, Joann! Best to not test the limits of airport security!

@Mike I love this product, and I think my husband and sons would really like it. As far as airport security. Although it may defy the purpose, my husband (who travels frequently) it's not a big deal to just put the any of the liquids, jells ,etc into the clear bags for security. Then, just transfer them over to the Tooletries Case after security clearance. Asked my sons about this and they said the same thing. So unless you are running super late and don't want to take the couple minutes, I would not make the TSA restrictions a reason not to purchase this product.

@Steve Thanks Steve. If you get one I really hope you like it. I have found so many uses for it along the way. I now have a beard so I keep my beard trimmers and go pro in the top half and my everyday toiletries in the bottom half.

@Alicia if you click on the "buy" button, you will see more descriptive information, including a weight listing of 1 lb., although I'm not sure if that is an actual product weight or a shipping weight. Hope that helps!

@Judi Thanks Judy and Alicia for your comments. The actual product weight is 0.9lbs - so just under 1 lb. We tested different weight vs durability and found this was the perfect balance between the two.

$40 for a waterproof case? You can buy the same at WM for 1/4 the price. Not as fancy but works.

    Ken, my guess is Walmart.

Steven, if that is the route you want to go, that is certainly your choice. However, Tooletries is much more than a waterproof case. With a soft lining and silicone netting, this is like a suitcase for your toiletries. There's no guarantee a $10 waterproof case is going to protect your electronics and gadgets which is the supreme benefit of Tooletries. To some, that peace of mind when traveling is worth the price.

@Cheryl Hi Cheryl, you would be surprised how much it can hold. I have filled it for long trips and have put so much in there. We may make a larger one down the line but people are also calling for a smaller version as well. I think a little one for sunglasses would like rad!
