Steam & Grill

Cooking your food on a stovetop steam grill gives you all the benefits of a nutrient-rich steam without sacrificing that delicious, lightly-charred flavor. Uchicook is made in Sanjo, Japan, a city that has been perfecting its metalworking craft since the 1800s and this heritage shows. Each grill’s durable, aluminum body distributes and retains heat evenly—and, if you have the lid on, it cooks your food in a third of the time. Once you’ve picked your recipe, the rest is pretty hands-off. Place your ingredients on the grill without any oil to sear them, then add water to the surrounding ridge and use the lid to trap the steam. The ribbed plate drains out excess grease, the steaming prevents the food from being stripped of its essential nutrients, and the grilling gives it that flavorful, charred finish.

What are the pros and cons of both the class and metal cover? Also, can it be used on a BBQ grill?

Hi Christine, the metal cover has a curve and the glass cover is flat so you will get more clearance with the metal one. We wouldn't recommend it for BBQ grill use.

To answer your last question first, yes. As to your first question, the big advantage of the metal lid is it is curved and not flat so you get more height with whatever you are cooking.

Hi Mary Jo, the metal has more height so you can fit more (and taller) food in the dish. You can use it on an electric stove, but we wouldn't recommend it for use on a BBQ grill.

Hi Joann, the Uchicook Steam grill is made with a thick plate aluminum alloy that distributes and retains heat evenly for a faster cooking time. The high quality Japan-made surface is non-stick and easy to clean, which allows you to cook without oil, which helps with healthier meals.

Our grill is Aluminum alloy with a coat of PFOA free fluororesin film which gives it the non-stick surface.
