Five height settings help you get the right fit and the desk’s straight vertical movement—along with a small footprint—means it won’t take over your space. Great Product but not for me

5/11/2019 by Terri

This desk is well made and looks attractive. It arrives assembled except for attaching the keyboard tray which was relatively easy to do. With five positions it was easy to find the perfect height for standing. The keyboard tray rides along and so was the right height as well.

It arrived very quickly and was well packaged. The price point was great.

Those were the "pros". The "cons" I have won't apply to everyone.

With the keyboard tray attached I had to reach my arms forward in order to lift and lower the desk. My monitor, keyboard, disc drive and external hard drive weigh about 20 pounds. Add to that approximate 11 more pounds to lift the desk. The springs don't help until you've lifted it about 7 inches. Then they kick in and the rest of the lift is light as air.

Those first 7 inches were too hard for me. We even removed the keyboard tray so I could stand closer to the desk and have my arms in a better position to do the lifting. It was still too much weight. I could feel the strain in my shoulders and back, and knew that if I repeated that motion two or three times a day, it would not be good for me. My 17 year old nephew who unpacked and helped me with set up was able to lift and lower with some effort but no pain.

So regrettably, I returned it to my office and they will offer it to someone else stronger than me.

Last comment: it would have been nice if the keyboard tray could be pushed in and out of the way. It extended over the top of the desk toward me, making it impossible to see the contents of my middle drawer when in the seated position. But that would not have been a deal breaker.

I wish it had worked out for me!

Great Concept, Difficult to Use

5/7/2019 by Cheryl

I definitely liked the concept. Unfortunately, I was not able to attach the keyboard. It was not easy to push up and down and when it was in the down position it was too high for me to key comfortably.

How do I return it?

About Uncaged Ergonomics

Easy Ergonomics

Uncaged Ergonomics Maker Joseph Send first made an ergonomic textbook holder before focusing on desks. His easy-up and easy-down designs make standing up while working as easy as, well, standing up.

A springed mechanism lets these adjustable desks pop up (and back down) in seconds and remain stable. That, along with their small footprints, means you can reap those standing health benefits without sacrificing work space. There’s room for workday essentials on the surface and multiple height levels to get into the perfect working position.

When Joseph streamlined out the bulk some other standing desks have, he also eliminated the need for installation. Just set a desk on top of your work space and get to it.
