Set the tone to your day

Start your A.M. off right. This smart alarm clock wakes you with gradually increasing music, softly rising light, a 100% charged phone, and even a weather and traffic forecast. Beddi is loaded with functions you can customize to kick off the day—and to wind down at bedtime, too. Set the built-in speaker to tuck you in with some white noise. While you’re sleeping, Beddi can hold and charge your phone plus two other devices, so you’ll wake up to fully powered batteries. Maker Alfred Wong created Beddi with a library of options and made it really easy to customize. Take the snooze button: if you’re more of a traditionalist, personalize a button to press snooze like a standard alarm. Or if you’re more tech-savvy, sync up your phone to activate snooze. You can even use your phone to play Spotify music and control other smart devices around your home, like your thermostat or lights. From calling you a cab on the spot to letting you set mood lighting—you can program your morning (and your evening) just the way you like it.

  • Alfred

    11/8/2016 11:15 AM

    @Mir BEDDI works as a bluetooth speaker, so you can use your Pandora app on your phone to stream music to BEDDI. Unfortunately Pandora doesn't have a public API so we can't play their music via our app directly. Thanks

    11/8/2016 11:21 AM

    @Cynthia Yes, the white noise can be run all night, or you can set a timer to turn it off after 60 mins (customizable). You can adjust the loudness as well. We are also working on an update for users to download more white noise!

    I've been looking for a good smart alarm clock. The feature I want and can't find (in a smart alarm) is one that also projects the time on the ceiling.

  • Alfred
    Alfred – Special Guest
    11/8/2016 11:31 AM

    @Ramsey Right now we are not projecting the time on the ceiling, but is it really a great idea and I will definitely bring it up in our next design meeting. Thanks a lot bringing it up, I hope we might have it as a new feature soon.

    I believe you would enjoy our other smart features, though. I am sure you wouldn't be disappointed :-)

    Hi there! Will Beddi play a radio app, for example, iHeartRadio, for the option of waking up to AM radio? Also, I love the "ground effects" light at the base of Beddi, but is there a way to have no light on as well? Thank you!

  • Alfred

    Great idea! Both hubby and son have an i6 and I know both of them would love this! My son is at college and gets iffy wifi (I am technically challenged so I'm not sure the right question to ask). I'm guessing there is data usage? And I'm guessing if wifi goes, it goes with? And again, being technically challenged, is this just plugged into the wall? I am really leaning towards getting this for son and hubby for Christmas!

  • Alfred
    Alfred – Special Guest
    11/8/2016 11:45 AM

    @DD I believe it would make a great Christmas gift and I am sure your son and husband would love it :-)

    BEDDI connects with a phone using Bluetooth connection, so iffy WiFi wouldn't cause any troubles. And you are right, you just need to plug it in a wall outlet.

    @Beth The light is gradually brightening when you use it prior your wake up alarm.

    When used as an onboard light, you can set how bright as you want it to be.

    As for the platforms you can integrate it with, I would like to add Nest, Wemo, Home kit, etc. (sorry I somehow misread your fist comment).

    I see on the white version the time is displayed in white light. Is it white number display on either black or white? Current digital beside clock is red light and I find myself covering it up (thus defeating the purpose of being able to tell the time in the middle of the night) because it is too illuminating and annoying. Can the time display be dimmed?

  • Alfred
    Alfred – Special Guest
    11/8/2016 12:45 PM

    @Veronica I completely understand what you mean, but in our case you can set the brightness of the clock.

    You also have an option "Dim Clock on Rotate" which will dim the clock when you rotate the BEDDI app.

  • Alfred
    Alfred – Special Guest
    11/8/2016 12:50 PM

    @Ed When set at max volume, the alarm can wake one up if they are in another room. It is pretty loud and we haven't had a case thus far for someone to miss it.

    I believe your teenager would never be late for school anymore :-)

  • Ann

  • Alfred

    @Ann The cradle size is 17 x 171 x 25mm (W x L x D), or 0.67? x 6.73? x 1?. So I guess it depends on the size of the charging unit you have.

  • T
    T

    I know today's Grommet is a smart clock with an app complement, but I must ask for practical purposes... Do the app's features (like the alarm clock, mapping, weather) still work if the phone is not docked to the BEDDI (like, if I'm in a hotel), or will I still have use alternate apps for that?

    Also, does BEDDI provide a charging cord?

  • Alfred
    Alfred – Special Guest
    11/8/2016 1:04 PM

    @T Yes, the smart features (like mapping, weather) would work, if the phone is not docked, but it will have to be in range to stay connected via Bluetooth.

    The alarm clock would work even your phone is off.

  • T
    T
    11/8/2016 1:08 PM

    @Alfred Thank you for your response, and forgive my lack of technical savvy. So you're saying that app features like mapping & weather will not work in a hotel, sans the clock?

  • Alfred
    Alfred – Special Guest
    11/8/2016 1:15 PM

    @T Nothing to apologize for, I am more than happy to help :)

    I am saying all smart features will work, as long as your phone is connected to BEDDI (via bluetooth).

    You will be able to take advantage of the smart features, even if your phone is not in the dock.

  • T
    T
    11/8/2016 1:47 PM

    @Alfred OK... so bring my BEDDI with me when I'm on travel, or make sure I get home before bedtime? lol

    I'm seriously considering purchasing a BEDDI. It sounds great! I just want to be clear on what to expect when I'm away from home (i.e., away from the BEDDI). Right now, I have a GPS app that considers my phone's time, location, etc. to change my phone's status/launch apps.

  • Alfred
    Alfred – Special Guest
    11/8/2016 1:57 PM

    @T Bringing BEDDI when travelling is actually a pretty great idea. As we know, getting home before bedtime is not always... doable :-)

    When you are away from BEDDI and it is not connected to your phone (via Bluetooth), it will work as a regular alarm clock, without all the fun features.

    If you have more questions, fire away. I want to make sure you make the right decision. We like nothing more than happy customers.

  • T
    T
    11/8/2016 2:11 PM

    @Alfred Thanks, Alfred, because I'm really trying to understand what's being presented. My question is less about the physical clock. I'm asking is how the app's features will function, when the phone is not docked or in Bluetooth range of the BEDDI.

  • Alfred
    Alfred – Special Guest
    11/8/2016 2:19 PM

    @T It's a valid question.

    Actually, the app is meant to control BEDDI. If BEDDI is not connected (in range), the app won't work for you.

  • T
    T
    11/8/2016 2:24 PM

    @Alfred Got it. Thanks, Alfred.

    1. What is the height of the time LED's? (A large LED, and maybe blue color, options might be nice)

    2. Will this unit work if there is a power interruption or failure? I don't see mention of a battery back-up, but am not sure if it would be necesssary.

    Thank you.

  • Alfred

    @Len

    1. BEDDI measures approximately 8.66? (W) × 2.13? (D) × 5.12? (H). Its weight is approximately 1.2 pounds.

    2. It doesn't have a battery back-up.

Beddi Smart Alarm Clock

Set the tone to your day

Start your A.M. off right. This smart alarm clock wakes you with gradually increasing music, softly rising light, a 100% charged phone, and even a weather and traffic forecast.

Beddi is loaded with functions you can customize to kick off the day—and to wind down at bedtime, too. Set the built-in speaker to tuck you in with some
white noise.

    Exactly how loud is the maximum volume? My teenager sleeps through her current alarm so I want something that is louder than that. Thanks!

    @Ed When set at max volume, the alarm can wake one up if they are in another room. It is pretty loud and we haven't had a case thus far for someone to miss it.

    I believe your teenager would never be late for school anymore :-)

    Will it also house the charging unit extending from the Galaxy 7?

    @Ann The cradle size is 17 x 171 x 25mm (W x L x D), or 0.67? x 6.73? x 1?. So I guess it depends on the size of the charging unit you have.

    @T Yes, the smart features (like mapping, weather) would work, if the phone is not docked, but it will have to be in range to stay connected via Bluetooth.

    The alarm clock would work even your phone is off.

    @Alfred Thank you for your response, and forgive my lack of technical savvy. So you're saying that app features like mapping & weather will not work in a hotel, sans the clock?

    @T Nothing to apologize for, I am more than happy to help :)

    I am saying all smart features will work, as long as your phone is connected to BEDDI (via bluetooth).

    You will be able to take advantage of the smart features, even if your phone is not in the dock.

    @Alfred Thanks, Alfred, because I'm really trying to understand what's being presented. My question is less about the physical clock. I'm asking is how the app's features will function, when the phone is not docked or in Bluetooth range of the BEDDI.

    @T It's a valid question.

    Actually, the app is meant to control BEDDI. If BEDDI is not connected (in range), the app won't work for you.

    @Alfred Got it. Thanks, Alfred.

    I think I'm going to try it out. It's a great idea and I only see good reviews about it.

    I assume the app is on the iTunes and Play stores. Is the app available from Amazon? Wondering if it will work with my kids' fire tablets.

    Hi, I assume this has a normal American style plug and requires 120 volts. Will it be able to handle 220 volts if I place a European adaptor on it?

    @Brian BEDDI works worldwide and we include a European Plug for you (The power adapter is 110V to 240V).

    1. What is the height of the time LED's? (A large LED, and maybe blue color, options might be nice)

    2. Will this unit work if there is a power interruption or failure? I don't see mention of a battery back-up, but am not sure if it would be necesssary.

    Thank you.

    @Len

    1. BEDDI measures approximately 8.66? (W) × 2.13? (D) × 5.12? (H). Its weight is approximately 1.2 pounds.

    2. It doesn't have a battery back-up.
