UNICHE

Stepless Ratchet Tool

Ratchet Up

It started out as a tool for cyclists to repair their bikes on the go, but this stepless ratchet soon saw uses beyond the road.

UNICHE is a multi-tool with a—well—unique, stepless design. That means the ratchet can start from any angle. And because there’s no catching, it doesn’t make that familiar clicking sound you might be used to. It rotates smoothly, with a compact shape that fits into tight spots that traditional
ratchets can’t, like hard-to reach-screws or the angles on flat pack furniture.

Adding to its uses, the head is removable for use as a finger ratchet. Or an included extender gives you access to farther away areas. Interchangeable tool bits, like a hex, Phillips, and flat-head, are stored tidily in the handle, thanks to magnets.

With its compact, durable design, this multi-tool can lend a hand anywhere you need it.

We're all looking forward to using this around the office!

I don't think it'll be much of an issue around here, but will UNICHE rust easily?

@Chad No worries on rust, as it is both stainless and aluminum.

What is the size of this?

  • Chad

    7/29/2016 10:26 AM

@Kate The dimensions are: 7.6" x 3.14" x 1.25" and it weights just under half a pound. If you go to the product details page here you can see some sample photos that might give you a better perspective of the size.

Does it loosen as well as tighten?

I am looking for this to be something as a catch all for the kitchen tool drawer. I do not do well with many tools, but my husband taught me to use tools similar to this before I lost him this last May. I love this design. Thank You

@Jennifer Yep! One sight tightens and if you need to loosen simply flip to the other side.

It certainly does help consolidate many different tools into one small unit!

@Chad Hi Chad, it is such a cool tool, and yes, you just insert the tool on the other side. Easy!

@Ken when i look at the product details, it describes the materials as 100% aluminum, but the first inquiry in this post asks if the UNICHE is prone to rusting, and your reply was :

@Chad No worries on rust, as it is both stainless and aluminum.

    so, which is it?

@steve The mechanism is aluminum, as is the housing that holds the little bits, the actual small tools are stainless

How much torque can this product handle? I've thrown away a number of similar devices simply because they stripped out and became worthless. Same question for the insertable bits... are they designed to handle pressure or will they soon turn to mush?

It looks handy and well designed, but it is made in Taiwan, so... I'm concerned. thank you.

@chris the tool is designed to handle 118 inch pounds of torque, and the small bits are also well made. In my own use, doing furniture assembly, I found it highly functional. The designer for this has designed products for other high profile accessory companies.

What is the weight of the tool? I have used many bike tools over the years and this looks like a great design. Is there a warranty?

  • Ken

@Chris The tool weight is slightly less than 6oz. There is a 2 year warranty on the multi-tool.

I bought your screwdriver, and think it looks good. I DO think the price is about $10 too high. Maybe it'll come down if enough people pay this higher price in order to buy it. Good luck.

In one of the pics, it looks like the handle detaches from ratchet head. Is this true? If so, how easy is it to detach/re-attach? What are dimensions of individual pieces (I've lost a few tools to the TSA 7" rule).

  • Irene

It appears that all the included tools are metric sizes, is this correct? If so, does the ratchet take standard 1/4" hex tools so one can use the ratchet with non-metric tools?

Hi John, it does indeed fit 1/4" hex tools!
