I really enjoyed wearing these socks for the first time. I was worried when I ordered them because the website did not offer any information on size, mine came as men's large.More > < Less

Nice, but not as expected

The socks are nice and they are warm, but don't seem any better than other merino wool socks in the same price range. While the company makes an admirable effort in cleaning up our country's waterways, it is dubious if "these socks help our country’s environment"
"Made in the USA: Philadelphia, PA; Uxbridge, MA; Osage, IA; and ND" leads the reader to believe that there are 4 production facilities in the US and gives no indication that the bison are in ND but their wool is shipped cross country to MA for spinning/processing, then ships back clear across the country to IA for knitting, then cross country again to PA for shipping! The carbon footprint and pollution caused by 3 trips cross country may exceed the benefit of cleaning up 1 pound of litter from waterways. Nice socks, nice conservation effort, but not as environmentally conscious as it sounds at first look.

About United By Blue

Bison Built

When you think of bison, you probably picture large, furry animals roaming America’s plains. What you might not know is that bison down is soft, warm, and wicks moisture, too. What better way to use this wonder fiber than in thick, cushy socks that are American from materials to mission?

The Ultimate American Socks are plush, warm, and even microbial—meaning you can wear a pair a few times before washing. Padded, reinforced toes and heels add to their durability.

Every step of making these ultra-American socks takes place in the U.S., starting with bison ranched in North Dakota. From there, the yarn is spun in Massachusetts and knitted in Iowa. The packaging is made in Pennsylvania.

United by Blue is so committed to our country that these socks even benefit American conservation. For every pair sold, they remove one pound of litter from our waterways.

Every time you pull on these cozy socks, take pride in preserving American manufacturing as well as our shining lakes and streams.
