Viva La Gift Box!

Many of us turn to gift cards when we’re not quite sure what to buy for someone. Gift cards are easy, convenient and let the recipients choose something they’ll really like. But if you want to take things up a notch, Vivabox has added a new dimension to the classic gift card. You choose a theme, and the recipient gets to open a present AND choose another gift. Here’s how it works. First, you pick a theme that best suits your target, such as Movie Experience for a cinema buff or Bar-B-Que for grill lovers. When the Vivabox arrives, there’s a gift inside related to the theme you picked. Tea Time comes with a selection of organic teas, for instance, and Fun with Photos includes a hands-free Gorillapod tripod. There’s also a gift card inside that instructs the recipient to go online and select another theme-related present to complete the package. With Vivabox, you get the instant gratification of a traditional gift, plus the flexibility of a gift card, all wrapped in a gorgeous package. The recipient knows you put thought into the gift -- and gets to pick out something he or she really likes. You can’t go wrong.

Only 9 days until Christmas and you look forward to giving those perfect gifts you found to your family and friends. Well, except your disapproving Mother-In-Law. She has everything she needs and you don’t know what she wants. You know she thinks gift cards are an impersonal cop out so that isn’t an option. Another sweater or scarf won’t cut it either. She wants something exciting to unwrap that shows you know her and care. Time to panic! You’re running out of time!

This is no longer a problem because Daily Grommet is featuring Vivabox today. You only need a general idea of what she would like and we take care of the rest. Vivaboxes have a small gift to open and enjoy right away along with a card that can be redeemed for something off the included menu. Become the favorite in-law with the one gift that gives twice. I have been a part of creating each of our Vivaboxes and am looking forward to answer questions and feedback.

I really like this idea! It removes the "slacker" feeling of giving a giftcard.

btw, I am unsure how this video was produced; the audio is really bad. It should be redone unless the creators wanted to sound like they used helium before speaking.

@Jenn: Thank you for letting us know about the audio issues you experienced. It is coming through normally for me so it must not be a system-wide issue. We will look into it further and may contact you for further information. Thank you!

You obviously are not a Mother-in-Law. But, why in the world would you say such unnecessarily unkind things about them --- offending up to half of your buyer base. There are some awesome women who are great Mother-in-Laws. Mine was absolutely wonderful to me! She is in heaven this year and I miss her dearly.

@Mother-in Law: Who and what is a Courtney Love? Thanx for not much with your mother-in-law comment. I resent your comments and if you are the "in charge" person behind the Grommet, I've looked at it my las time. How rude you are!!

No offense intended to all of the wonderful mother-in-laws out there! Thanks for letting us know that this depiction did not sit well with you.

@Katherine Klinger: Honestly, the MIL comment was what drew me to this in the first place because mine is impossible to shop for and impossible to please. You are too, too kind to apologize to the ubersensitive for something that was intended to be good, innocent fun. Keep up the good, hilarious advertising!

@Katherine Klinger: I'm fairly new to Grommet, but I wanted to let you and your staff know that I appreciate the innocent humor of this post and feel it is unfortunate that others are so ridiculously sensitive...

Happy holidays and thanks for a wonderful site with unique and creative ideas and recommendations! I'm already sure I will be a happy reader (and customer) for a long time to come.

@Brenda Carlisle: We're glad that you found us! And truly, we don't mind hearing what anyone has on his/her mind. Of course, like anyone, we really love hearing when we've made a positive connection so we appreciate your kind words.
