Fiat Luxe

Felted Soap

Luxury Lather

Soap is not exactly a new invention. But felted soap—now that’s something you’ve probably never heard of before.

Like a soap and washcloth all in one, Fiat Luxe is wrapped in colorful wool felt for a lovely marbled look and gentle exfoliating feel. The soap is handmade in the USA using only natural ingredients and generously
scented with botanically derived essential oils for a lovely aroma from the first wash to the last. The soft wool felt is domestically sourced and has naturally occurring anti-fungal properties.

The felt shrinks along with the soap as you use it and will retain its freshness as long as you give it a quick squeeze to remove excess water. Once the soap inside is gone, you can make a small slit in the felt and re-stuff it with odds ends from other bars.

Nancy Rosenthal of Santa Rosa, California came up with the idea for Fiat Luxe while making soap as a gift for family and friends. In the process of cutting the soap, she found herself with leftovers of different shapes and sizes. Never one to waste, Nancy formed the remaining pieces into patties and encased them in felt.

A fragrant addition to any bath, decorative basket, or potpourri sachet, Fiat Luxe is a beautiful new way to soap up.

    Hi Nancy,

I think these soaps are fabulous! Maybe I'm a bit too sterile, but with all the scrubbing and exfoliating, can the felt covering be washed in-between soap changes, just to get rid of all those skin cells? Regardless, I'm ordering a few for gifting.

I spoke to Nancy and you could try putting in water you have boiled for a couple minutes. Just a heads up, it is going to really shrink it down to a mini felted soap casing. The quality and scent of the soaps are really divine, so you may find yourself reusing them but also reaching for new Fiat Luxe Soaps to try.

Hello! Nancy, the founder of Fiat Luxe is our special guest commenter, but also making soap today. As a tester, I will be available to assist her in answering questions while she is away from the computer. Move over loofahs, these felts soaps make for a much better bathing experience.

I couldn't quite make out what video said about packaging. Love the idea of these soaps and want to give as gifts but I am wondering -- are they boxed ? thanks

    @Rose Alice

They come as pictured, no box. Lauren in the video was referring to how they present beautifully as is. They have a little hang tag that describes that they are soap. Felted soap so unique; your gift recipient may not know what it is until they pick it up, read the tag and smell the divine fragrances.

The little tag also describes the process, how they are made in small batches in California with locally sourced wool and premium soap ingredients.

Did I mention they smell amazing?

I'd like to see a list of ingredients used in the soap please, to make certain that there's nothing that I'm allergic to; yes, there are many among the 'naturals' that cause me to itch, sneeze, etc...

    Thank you,

    Hi Catherine,

You can always find this information in the "details" section. There are several options with differing ingredients, but here is an example of where you can see the list of ingredients. You simply look below where it says "Add to Cart".

What a fun and natural way to clean up in the shower! I am using The Grommet to do most of my Christmas shopping this year and these felted soaps are a must for the girls on my list. This may be the most unique and useable gift they will receive this year. Thank you Nancy!

The video had mentioned that you can cut a small slit and slip in the remaining soap pieces. With that in mind, for reducing reusing and recycling purposes would soap bars/ovals/shapes, to be used as inserts, also become available?

    Hi there,

Nancy here from Fiat Luxe. We do not supply soap replacements. You can use all those little slivers of soap you have leftover to insert into your felt casing. Or you can buy a a beautifully handcrafted bar of soap at your local farmer's market and slice it into smaller pieces to use as a replacement.

Had the good fortune to visit w/ Nancy a few years ago while vacationing in Cali w/ my dear friend Sue Shaw-Crane. Bought her lavender soap and love it. So psyched to see Nancy's soap on the Grommet. Buy it people! You won't be sorry!
