TAXI Wallet

Compact Leather Wallet

Since we first introduced the Taxi Wallet in 2011, it has attracted a fiercely loyal crew.

Reviewers praise its streamlined, efficient construction. The design lets you easily access business cards and receipts in the outer pocket, while slipping bills and valuable documents inside. A gusseted snap pouch is ideal for loose change or a spare key.

Even with all those compartments, this wallet is still slim enough to carry in your front or back pocket.

Makers Alicia Klein and Lawrence Siegel distilled their design
down to raw function and performance, so it would have a timeless, universal appeal. They cleverly chose the name “Taxi” because it has the same meaning around the world.

When it comes time to choose a new faithful sidekick, we look for one that’s durable, classic, and won’t weigh us down. Hail, the Taxi Wallet.

I love my Original Taxi Wallets! I received my first one over twenty years ago (which I still have) and have added to my collection over the years. The unique leather colors, patterns and designs often elicit the question, "Where did you get your wallet?" Alicia Klein knows how to put the 'fun' in functional!

@Mary Bennett: Hi Mary, I'm the Marketing Director for Taxi Wallets® and Alicia Klein® - regarding the question - how many credit or gift cards will it hold? The answer is: It holds alot - you can easily put 10 cards in it but we've seen people who have over 20 cards in one Taxi wallet!

I like the look and convenience of your product. However, I will NOT buy anything made outside of the USA. Why did you choose China or India to produce the Taxi wallet?

Can you fit an iphone in it? I love this product, but would love it even more if I could fit my phone into it as well! Maybe a new design called itaxi wallet? lol!

@Deborah Miller: No, you cannot fit a phone in it. The design is slim for men and women who like to keep it in their pocket. This makes it more efficient for traveling or everyday use. Great idea about the iTAXI to fit ALL of your essentials. We will pass it on to Alicia Klein's design team.

My question is: are you actually going to be receiving more taxi wallets? It seems it is taking quite a while to get the wallets. As i mentioned before these make excellent gifts and events just keep going by and i can't purchase one as a gift because they aren't available yet. I do hope they are coming soon.

    Thank you,

Love the concept. How about making a silver mesh one with RF screening technology. That would be even better!

It is great to be back at Daily Grommet! Looking over the comments, we want to address the 'Made in the US' remarks. First, we appreciate the spirit in which they are presented. It may surprise you to know that we feel the same way. When we first introduced the Taxi Wallet, we had them made for us in Germany. From 1990 - '95, we made the Taxi Wallet in two different factories in the US but both factories ultimately closed and we were left scrambling to find someone to make our product. To our knowledge, currently there are no factories in the US that employ skilled leather workers that can make our complicated little Taxi Wallet. We would come home if we could.

Thank you - Bethanne Davis, Sales & Marketing Director

Thanks for the suggestion, Leslie! I'm going to pass that along to our design team. Good idea! I know from personal experience just how terrible it is to be a victim of fraud!

Will the bill compartment accomodate Japanese yen?

I wish the taxi wallet came with a shoulder strap. As a woman, I don't always wear clothing with pockets. Depending upon the circumstances, I don't always want to carry a purse so having the option of carrying just this small taxi wallet is perfect but I dont' want to carry it in my hand so having the option of ordering one that has an attached shoulder strap would be ideal.
