WonderWoof BowTie Dog Activity Tracker

Shape (P)UP

We’re dog people, so we want to stay connected to our pets. WonderWoof does just that with a dog activity tracker that lets owners keep an eye on their pet’s health.

The super cute BowTie-shaped tracker collects data on sleep, activity, and playtime. Through the companion app, pet parents can review the stats and get
health-improving tips based on the dog’s breed, size, and age. They can also set care reminders, like vet appointments, and connect with friends to meet up for dog walks.

Betsy Fore was concerned about her dog Whisky’s weight because she knew extra pounds could affect his lifespan. Betsy hacked apart her own fitness tracker and refashioned it for Whisky to wear.

By seeing his daily activity (or lack thereof), Betsy was able to make changes to Whisky’s diet and exercise routine, which helped him shed some weight. This of course delighted Betsy, and we’re sure it put some extra wag in Whisky’s tail, too.

Hi! My dog is a teacup Yorkie. I'm interested in your product, but seems the "bow tie" is too big & heavy for a tiny dog. Is there a smaller size or a range of sizes?

@Liliana Hey Liliana! Thank you for reaching out. The WonderWoof BowTie is made for all sizes and breeds of pups! There is only one size BowTie. The BowTie is ultra light-weight. Weighing in at 20 grams (0.7 oz) and is 0.79 x 1.26 x 2.36 inches.

    Hello Marisa,

This is pretty amazing! I have an older dog that really needs this as his weight fluctuates dramatically from Spring to Winter. (His activity is reduced in Winter.)

One suggestion I might add, is the inclusion of a GPS chip to help find lost dogs. I know they have an under the skin version, but a real time, "find Fido" GPS chip and GPS app would be a big help for those with "run off" dogs.

@Jeff Hi Jeff! We appreciate your feedback and we agree! We plan to release a GPS version of the WonderWoof BowTie later this year.

Hi Marisa! Wow, what a great idea this product is! I have a Yellow Lab mix that needs to lose a couple pounds (and she doesn't appreciate me reminding her). My question is: how is the activity measured? I'm curious to know if this shows estimated calories burned vs. "active minutes." Any extra information you can provide is great. Thank you!

@Sarah Hey Sarah! Thanks for reaching out! WonderWoof provides a daily recommendation of activity for your dog based on his or her breed, size, and age. The BowTie has a three-axis accelerometer that constantly collects activity data and syncs with your mobile device, providing you with insights into your dog’s health. Each ‘bone’ on the app home screen represents 10% of your dog’s daily recommended activity.

Activity collected is categorized in four different ways:

    Sleeping – no activity

    Resting – drowsy, balanced activity

    Active – regular, rhythmic activity

Playing – bursting, high energy activity

The app does not show calories burned or give you a total of their steps taken in a day like human activity trackers do. There is a graph that shows the activity goal and when they are reaching that goal.

@Marisa Great! Thank you so much for all of the information! I'm hoping you can provide more detail on where the breed activity recommendation data comes from. For example, are these recommendations from veterinarians? Thank you again!

@Sarah You are welcome! In order to give recommendation for each breed we built our own proprietary algorithm.

My dog is elderly and having seizures. I have seen 4 in the last 3 months but suspect that he might be having more. I wonder if your product would let me know if this would register somehow so that I would know? He is pretty much a couch potato at this point until I am home.

Hey Lori! Thanks for your question. Unfortunately this is not something the WonderWoof can do. It is strictly an activity tracker. It uses a a three-axis accelerometer to monitor activity and track it as sleeping, resting, active, and playing.

Hey there- This looks super cool. I live near a lake and like to swim a lot with my retriever, Ted, can he wear it then? Thank you!!

@Samantha Hey Samantha! Thanks for reaching out! Our BowTies are officially marked IPX7. That's technical jargon for they are water proof for 30 minutes up to 1 meter under water.

You're safe to splash, dunk, and play in water as long as the charging port cover is secured!
