Learn to Felt!

I was intrigued with the idea of felting -- taking a wad of wool and with only a needle turning it into a solid object. With the first kit I learned how to felt this whimsical Santa. I now have quite the collection and I bought several as gifts too!More > < Less

Bug-eyed appropriate in 2016.

We've been through a lot. I'm sending several to my friends one as a reminder of what a crazy year 2016 has been - even Santa is crazed. Nice well-made little gifts.More > < Less

Fun project!

I bought this for my (adult) sister who is into knitting, etc. She (plus me, and her husband) enjoyed completing it the day after Christmas; we each spent some time working on it, off and on over a few hours throughout the day. You could finish it faster, if you just worked straight through. It is a pretty cute Santa when done!

A few notes: It should be common knowledge, but *Read The Entire Set of Directions Through*, before even starting. It isn't spelled out explicitly in "Step 1" that you need to reserve some of the white wool for several later steps. My sister started out on Step 1, and used all the white wool for making the cone-shaped core... then only later did she realize she needed white wool for the beard, trim, eyes, etc. (The instructions don't offer a suggestion of how much to reserve, unfortunately -- you have to wing it.)

The needle is, well, a needle! A very sharp tip, and we each stabbed our fingers at least 3 times, drawing blood. No big deal for adults, but if you're giving this for younger kids, they definitely could use supervision and extra care.

I've never needle-felted before, and it was amazing to see this take shape, and to see the wool all stick together, just by needling...!

About Woolbuddy

Cuddly Characters

Woolbuddy stuffed animals—and stuffed animal kits—are adorable, quirky characters that will melt your heart.

Founder Jackie Huang designed the first one when his first child was born. Wanting to create a gift that reflected his imaginative work as a 3D animator, Jackie experimented with some leftover felt. From there, he kept on creating different personality-packed creatures out of 100% wool.

Want your Woolbuddy fully finished? No problem. Or, if you want to create your own, there’s a DIY kit with felting needles, instructions, and all the felt you need. It makes a fun bonding project with a child, grandchild, niece, nephew . . . but make sure you’re in charge because the needles are sharp.

A little loop on top is perfect for hanging your Woolbuddy up in a nursery or playroom, or even on the tree. Whether cheerfully displayed or sitting on your lap, these cuddly buddies bring smiles wherever they go.
