My son has a window cleaning business. I'm wondering if this ladder would be sturdy enough to use outdoors for this purpose?

  • Rodney

@sherry I have found that the foot material is very soft and easily torn and damaged. The flexible foot material breaks through to the aluminum tube. When this happens, while standing on the upper portion of the ladder, the rails flex and the exposed aluminum suddenly slides on a hard surface because of the reduced friction between aluminum and a hard surface. This can of course cause a serious accident. Based upon the photos, it does not look like this known defect has been solved. Make sure to check

@Rodney Who does Rodney represent. With his info, I doubt that this ladder would be a safe bet or that it would last very long. This is not worth 119.00 or even $50

Hi Rodney, I'm sorry to hear about your experience with Xtend + Climb. You are right in that if they foot material were to be damaged that would happen, but I don't believe that is a widespread problem. There are thousands of positive reviews online. It's easy to see such a problem occurring on rough surfaces, but because it is only designed for indoors, you shouldn't run into this problem often.

And because it is for indoor use, we would recommend your son use it with caution, Sherry.

@sherry Hi Sherry, so long as the ladders are kept dry and clean, then they should work just fine to utilize outdoors. These ladders are duty rated to support 225 lbs.
