ZEDERNA

Forest Fresh

Wood inside your shoe might seem like an unlikely (and potentially uncomfortable) odor-fighting choice, but the cedar wood insoles from Zederna harness that wood’s natural antibacterial properties to neutralize smells and absorb moisture. The ultra-thin insoles are lightweight and flexible. You can even trim them down with scissors to get the just-right fit in your shoes. Cedar wood has long been used to repel insects and keep clothing fresh, like in cedar closets. It contains chemical compounds that prevent decay and eliminate bacteria so well that it’s even used to ward off athlete’s foot and fungus. The insoles are made in Germany by a family-run company to deliver a natural remedy in an eco- and foot-friendly way that will keep feet feeling and smelling good.

Quick Questions

What are cedar wood soles made of?

They are 100% natural, made from a very thin layer of cedar wood on top of a stabilizing cotton layer. This unique design makes these shoe insoles very flexible, comfortable, and prevents them from splintering.

How do they work?

Cedar wood shoe insoles absorb sweat and foot moisture to keep your in-shoe environment comfortable, dry, and healthy. Cedar wood’s natural anti- bacterial properties help to prevent foot and shoe odor as well as common foot woes such as athlete’s foot and fungal infections of the nails and toes. In addition, cedar wood essential oils effuse a pleasant scent and have a shoe deodorizing effect.
Our cedar wood insoles absorb moisture and keep your feet dry, comfortable, and warm. The wooden insole serves as an additional insulating layer to keep your feet warm.

How does sizing work? What type of shoes can I use them with?

The sizing is unisex, please refer to the size chart to find your corresponding size range. The soles are thin and flexible so they are easy to trim to size as needed with a pair of scissors.
The Zederna Cedar Soles can be used in all types of closed shoes. You can wear the insoles with socks or sockless. The thin and flexible design makes them mold easily to your feet—after a short period they will be unnoticeable. When used with trainers during high impact sports, we recommend securing them with some double-sided adhesive tape.
You can also use Zederna Cedar Soles with orthopedic insoles. Simply place your cedar wood insoles on top of your orthotics with the wooden side facing upwards. Since the Zederna cedar wood insoles are very thin and flexible, they will easily mold to the shape of your feet and orthotics.

How long can I use the soles for?

Depending on frequency and intensity of use, cedar wood insoles can be worn for three months before they start losing their properties and should be replaced with a new pair.
